Sounds legit.

Series like The Simpsons, Family Guy, Pokemon, The Teletubbies and Futurama are "projects aimed at the destruction of the family, and the promotion of drugs and other vices."

Only one of those shows is meant for children under the age of five. Just because it's animated doesn't mean it's for children.

Which one? Pokemon or Teletubbies?

I'm really not sure, but the PBS affiliate where I used to live used to run Teletubbies episodes at 2 AM on Sunday mornings so I'm thinking they were going for the same audience that probably likes Cartoon network.

The Simpsons is causing controversy? Is it 1991 already?

/the Simpsons are actually a fine example of a family unit

I meant Teletubbies. I never actually watched Pokemon, so I can't really comment on whether or not it's suitable for that age range, but I doubt it.

FTA: According to Irina Medvédeva, a psychologist quoted in the study, children aged between 3 and 5 years, after being exposed to such series, "pull faces and make jokes in front of adults they don't know, laugh out loud and repeat nonsense phrases in a brazen manner."

Have these people ever met a child who didn't do any of these things? I'm in my 40's and I still do these things.

From what I remember watching it as a kid, it wouldn't be bad. It's targeted older than 5, but still for young kids.

You were clearly a twiddler. A dreamer. A sillyheart. I doubt you take a single thing in your life seriously. All in all, I'd say you were a bad egg who grew up to be a bad omelette.

"The Teletubbies deliberately aims to create subnormal (men), who spend all day in front of the television with their mouths open swallowing all types of information," behaviour which, it claims, complies with the "psychology of losers".

The National Commission for the protection of morality in Ukraine deliberately aims to create subnormal (men), who spend all day on their knees in church with their mouths open swallowing all types of information," behaviour which, I claim, complies with the "psychology of idiots".

Curious about this. Is this a bad translation or do they really believe that statement? I can understand claiming that the cartoons in question could CAUSE the destruction of the family/drugs/vices/etc, but to say that's what they're designed to do is just hyperbolic bullshiat.

I'll deign to give a crap about moral authority from Ukraine when they deign to arrest even one botnet operator, malware distributor, or spammer. Until then, they can cry all they want about Futurama.

If only there was an appropriate Bender-themed meme image for the situation...

So kids aged between 3 and 5 are acting like kids aged from 3 and 5, except Ukraine kids who are out getting jobs.

The original article in Pravda says that the "research" was done by some religious group. This group was spreading their "findings" all over teh internets and that's what caused the kneejerk reaction by the National Committee on Morals to call a special session. No more no less - nothing is getting banned yet.

Russia (Pussy Riot situation) and now Ukraine are sliding quickly back under the influence of religion. Sad and disturbing.

No spawn here, but IIRC (albeit very vaguely) from my psych development course, this is appropriate behavior for kids that age...shows that their brains are developing properly.

Then might I suggest they just start medicating those children, problem solved...am I right? Worked very well in the U.S. no side effects or problems, right?

One of the shows this clucking hen is crying about is Family Guy, starring their own Mila Kunis. I doubt they'd have anything good to say about Milla Jovovich's...body of work either.
