dittybopper: [www.alicecooper.net image 400x280]

If you're listening to a rock star in order to get your information on who to vote for, you're a bigger moron than they are. Why are we rock stars? Because we're morons. We sleep all day, we play music at night and very rarely do we sit around reading the Washington Journal.  -Alice Cooper

Ironically, I take his opinions seriously.

We need to have an intervention with Dave Mustaine:

"Dave, we, your fans, have something to say to you. In the last few years you have become a totally different person, and have hurt us very deeply. You've let your current lifestyle destroy the music you make. Dave, we really want you to get back on the heroin."

Sounds like the worst conspiracy ever.

"Okay, we can't try to take away their guns until next year - I'll lose the election if I try it now. So, we will have a couple of mass-shootings NOW, and hope everyone remembers them a year from now."

If this happened soon after Obama's reelection, then the scenario would at least be...well, the word I want isn't 'plausible'...not 'rational'...uh...

Anyway, to say that these things happened now as part of a conspiracy to ban guns at some indeterminate point in the future is even more retarded than a 'normal' conspiracy theory.

dickfreckle: randomjsa: that's fine and all, but I'm guessing you don't go to any websites that support equally crack pot ideas that you're more keen on?

No, I don't. I'm not keen on crackpots in general. You may find this hard to believe, but just because I'm a liberal does not mean that I get my information from angry blogs. Crazy, right?

However, while I find Kos and ThinkProgress to often be whiny to the point of nails on a chalkboard, I still don't think they're anywhere near as divorced from reality as some of the disturbingly popular right wing sites. Sorry man. It's not because I lean left; it's because there's a difference between posting (usually) contextual video evidence of a claim and then vaginating over it (merely annoying) vs: OMG FEMA'S COMING FOR US AND HERE'S FIVE PARAGRAPHS OF MY PARANOID FANTASIES TO PROVE IT!!bbq

Meh, I read the actual news from Google Reader every day (that's RSS for you young folk). Feeds come from AP, Reuters, BBC, et al.

Nope.

I sometimes wonder if those on the left get equally embarrassed by their own idiots that go blue in the face about taxing the rich and coporate derp etc., as much as some of us in the center/right equally facepalm when an idiot like this proves he's never had to spend a day of his life in the real world.

Thankfully Megadeth hasn't been relevant in like, 20 years.

Didn't our DoJ sell guns to the drug cartels in hopes of catching them using guns?

Google around on Al Gore's internet. Wander off of the derpsites, and you'll find that Fast and Furious adds up to nothing more than a war on christmas conducted by swiftboats on whitewater.

He's still putting out good music, although I'd say Endgame was way better than Thirteen. Millenium of the Blind Is the coolest off the new one, but looking at the lyrics you gotta wonder about Dave's grasp of recent history and current events.

Here's the last one from Endgame - The Right to Go Insane which is pretty awesome. That album is pretty reminiscent of Symphony of Destruction.

They don't have Reagan to lobby for the new antigun laws anymore, so it won't be so easy to pass much of anything.

Of course Obama has been so harsh on gun rights that he now forced us to be able to carry concealed firearms in Federal parks. What an antigun monster!

2 things...I went on a rock autobiography tear and Dave Mustaine's was perhaps the worst. You know that one friend who CANNOT GET OVER THEIR EX? That's him. 75% of the book was him whining about being kicked out of Metallica. 20% was him crying b/c he couldn't outsell Metallica. 5% was him bragging about his drug use. Apparently the last part was all about finding Jesus but I didn't make it that far and I'm almost pathological about finishing every book I start.

The other thing. Rightwingers are obsessed with Obama taking their guns. Don't they know thanks to him they can carry in national parks? Don't they remember that guy who brought the rifle to Obama's Arizona appearance? There was a guy in New Hampshire too. Nothing happened to them. What do they think would've happened if some guy did the same at a Bush rally? What does the NRA rate Obama?

Endgame is fantastic. Dialectic Chaos leading into This Day We Fight is Megadeth at its best. And Chris Broderick has the chops to make Megadeth special in the same way Marty Friedman did. Th1rt3en wasn't great, but solid enough. Curious to see where they go next.

Chris Broderick is probably the most technically gifted guitarist ever in Megadeth, but his solos aren't anywhere near as interesting or creative a Chris Poland's or Marty Friedman's. Broderick just has too much of that virtuoso flair and not enough of the frenetic, desperate sound that made Megadeth great.

Youthanasia was the last Megadth album I was blown away by. Cryptic Writings was good, but less impressive, and everything since then has ranged between "meh" and "solid," IMO.

No the aliens were part of his left wing lunatic paranoid rantings: Hanger 18. I guess paranoid fantasies about the government coming to get his guns are slightly more realistic than the government is conspiring with or has captured aliens or whatever the narrative behind that song was. He's always been batshiat insane he's just switched delusional systems.I love his stuff from when he was a raging alcoholic the only thing I've listened to since is conversion was United Abominations and that was some of the worst suck I've ever heard.

This, broderick just wants to cram as many notes in as possible. Poland was a jazz fusion guy and Marty (while being a virtuoso) has so much expression in his solos instead of over-indulgent flair.

Of cause not. You have to burn it ONTO CD and then burn THED CD

No, you burn the disks, take them outside, throw them up in the air and turn them to dust with a baseball bat. It's awfully cathartic when there is a fine foil dust falling all around. I discovered it back in the early days of burning after my 5th 'coaster' in a row. One nice solid swing, and they literally disintegrate. Best thing is, if you miss, they usually stay intact, and you can try again for full effect.

The microwave is cool too, but not quite as much of a load off... More geeky than anything.
