At least the Romney campaign is staying consistent. Looks like Ryan is fitting right in...

2012-08-15 08:17:04 PM
Heh. Well I guess Ryan is going to tow the line ....

Somebody get mr blue eyes some flip flops, please.

2012-08-15 08:17:18 PM
"The president's campaign says this raid of Medicare to pay for Obamacare, which leads to fewer services for current seniors, is an achievement," Ryan said. "Do you think raiding Medicare to pay for Obamacare is an achievement? Well, neither do I."

He went on to say "Raiding Medicare to pay private companies, however, is another, much better story."

They're desperate to make this poorly constructed talking point stick huh?

People dumb enough to vote for these clowns aren't willing to actually look into the fact and to be honest, don't care.

Quick Mr. Ryan suggest we just give the medicare money to insurance companies. You know, like your policies propose!

It's so sad.

The logic seems to be "Obama cut $700 billion in spending without affecting benefits so therefore it's ok for Paul Ryan to cut Medicare in a way that would affect benefits".

Maybe the Fark GOP shills can explain this to me?

What's truly tragic is just how well this works, for a certain segment of the population anyway.

WRONG!

static.politifact.com.s3.amazonaws.com

As Politifact cannot speak directly to the current beliefs of Paul Ryan, we need to rely on the statements of this politician. Paul Ryan has been consistent in his support of Romney ever since accepting the nomination for Vice President. Though this contrasts with previously stated opinions, Politifact does not assume that the change in opinion is a lie rather than an honest change of heart, so we rate this Mostly True.

IT'S BEEN LESS THAN A WEEK.

It's not a farking change of heart. It's him lying about what he believes so that it matches what Romney is saying.

I hereby rate Politifact as Completely Bullshiat.

Obama's "cuts" aren't taking benefits away. They are removing (medicare advantage) payments for things that will be covered under the ACA. the benefits are actually better than before.

Hell, let's just cut Medicare entirely until most of the boomers die, then reinstate it. Continue to collect taxes on it. Same for Social Security. Continue to collect SS but don't pay any old people SS, use the money to pay off the debt. After all those f*ckin old people got us into this mess. They can die penniless on the street or ask their children to care for them and hope their children do actually care for them.

Then slowly erode welfare and defense spending to reasonable levels over a decade or two and continue paying down that debt.

Book it. Done.

But that doesn't allow the Republicans to pretend that they care about who rely on Medicare while at the same time proposing to gut the system. It's much more convenient for them when they can just leave this inconvenient fact out.

Donnchadha: Is their entire strategy just to say everything with the hopes that most people will only listen to the parts they want to hear?

My step-daughter's boyfriend asked me a few days ago who I was voting for. He's a redneck and pretty racist IMO so when I told him Obama he nearly fell out. He said Obama wants to "take our guns" and he wants to "raise our taxes" and finally "Obamacare is bullshiat." It was as if FOX News had lept into my living room LIVE. I started laughing and after about 30 minutes of explaining that everything he just said was nuts, he began to question what he had been told. Needless to say, since he has my grand-daughter's well being to think of, I let him know in no uncertain terms that if he voted Republican he was putting my family at risk. I don't know if I got through completely but he was at least receptive to what I was saying. I figured I'll have a few more chances to help him decide that the current Republican party is too dangerous to vote for right now. I guess we'll see.

Just so I have this right:

The Romney position is that they're going to destroy Medicare to save Medicare from Obamacare.

Good luck with that!

How does Obama cuts not affect benefits you farking retard? It leads to lower payments to doctors and hospitals. Less doctors and hospitals accept.Medicare payments for certain procedures, de facto rationing occurs. The payment advisory board also has the power to ration what Medicare pays for. Just admit you are too farking stupid to understand what the cuts do. They ration care and cost shift to private plans. Only farking idiots believe these cuts have zero effects on benefits.

Three pounds.
If yours weighs 10 lbs you may want to see a doctor, or the Guinness Book of World Records

The Asian Elephant has a brain that weighs around 10 lbs.

But as it relates to 10 lbs of cheese, you may want to brush up on your revolutionary history.

This is one thing that's been inexplicable to me. Why on earth do the knuckle dragging, mouth breathing tea baggers love Medicare so much!?!?!

It's a big federal government healthcare program. It's like Obamacare, but only for old people.

Why is it so loved by the right winger nut jobs?
