Tim Tebow needs to be on a non-Northeast team to be Tim TebowTM. If Tebow starts to suck it up in New York this year expect to see this kind of comment in the media:

"Maybe Tebow should do more playbook studying than Bible studying."

This is exactly why he needs to be in the northeast.

Now that he's far, far away from CO Springs he won't have as many fans.

Make no mistake, Tebow fans were not Bronco fans and vice versa.

Author is a self-important douche. "There's too much media coverage on Tebow, I know, I'll write an article about Tebow!" That may as well have been an SEO. It's like intentionally tweeting whatever topics are trending on Twitter just so you can get views & gain followers. People see Tebow in different ways. The people who love or hate that he's religous focus on that almost exclusively and praise it or get butthurt by it. I don't give 2-sharts either way about his faith. As a Pats fan I just hope he beats out Sanchez so they can sack his ass for 50 yard loses.

As much as I think the author is trying to stretch a story out of pure postulation, I do worry that sports will become the next culture war battleground. The culture war has already infested itself in everything else we consume, from the Dixie Chicks all the way up to Chik-Fil-A last month.

Football has always been a welcome refuge from that conflict (labor disputes notwithstanding), and if that becomes the case I WILL flense somebody.

That's if he even gets enough playing time to warrant comments on his performance.

"Have You Accepted Tim Tebow as Your QB and Sunday Savior?

No. No, I have not. A fragile Jets fan and fierce denialist tries to make his peace with the arrival of Tebowmania in New York"

Heh. I have little doubt that Tebow will be fine, regardless of whether he is successful in NY or not. The fans, both supporter and doubters, not so much.

So, I hereby give you....

The five stages of Tebowmania:

1. Denial. Hey, he's a great guy. Who knows, maybe a change of scenery is what he needs to make progress. The management in Denver never really liked the guy, so, whatever. It's not like the guy we got is great, anyway.

2. Anger. WTF? 10 straight 3 and outs? What The Fark? Where's McElroy?

3. Bargaining. Well, he did only complete 6 passes, but he made that sweet run to get us in position for that 52 yard field goal to win the game. This might still work.

4. Depression. 3 straight ugly losses with Tebow completing 46%. *sigh* Well, it's not like we got anyone better. *sigh* Plus the defense and coaching and special teams and... *sigh*

5. Acceptance. Oh well, he's a great guy and it's not like the next 15 years of his career are a lifetime or anything. Winning isn't everything.

FTFA: "It should probably go without saying that the New York sports media already have a Teboner the size of Manhattan. Which is not the same thing as saying that they've fallen for him. Tebow is popular with this crew for the same reason that feces are popular with monkeys: It's fun to fling shiat around."

Line made me laugh.

Rest of article reads like a conflicted guy on his knees with a down zipper in front of him, debating himself at the last minute whether or not to give a blowjob.

Hi. I'm an atheist asshole Eagles fan and I like Tim Tebow because he is fun to watch play football because he does it with a ton of heart and effort in a way that absolutely should not work but still somehow manages to pull wins out of his ass. He also seems like a generally nice and humble guy.

2012-08-15 09:00:52 PM
I really don't see all that much wrong with Tebow himself. He's religious on a stage where that sort of thing gets magnified. Kurt Warner and the Minister of Defense avoided it, but times are different now. What I really despise are the legions of sycophants on one side and the haters on the other stirring everyone into a frenzy.

I was in Virginia in 1999, and one of the local TV stations started running commercials with Andy Pettitte talking about his new close relationship with God.

Pettitte was awful that summer (he was 7-8 before the trade deadline, and then went 7-3 afterward to look a little respectable), and someone actually wrote, "Maybe he should spend less time walking with the Lord and more time working on his change-up."

I watched an interview between Peyton Manning on ESPN turn into Manning outright shilling for DirectTV for 10 minutes.

The media trying to force Tebow to be a story is the least of their problems. As someone here once wrote, I hope he has a mediocre 5 year career, good enough where the haters can't mock, and bad enough that the media can't report on him constantly. He'll just fade into obscurity.

Ha. You again. I have to admit you are a riot with the Tebow apologetics. But anyway, yeah, I seriously judge Tebow based on his body of work to date, which, in looking at the numbers, is not very good. He's either going to dramatically increase his completion percentage, or he's not going to be an everyday starter in the nfl. The last guy to get that much playing time while sucking that much was jamarcus russell.

No, I'm not. What I said is that Tebow is already being hailed more than Steve Young was ever hailed, despite Timmer having nothing very interesting (WRT pro football) on his resume other than one playoff victory (largely thanks to his team's D) and more incomplete passes than my college roommate accumulated in two years of hitting on bar skanks.

Oh bullshiat. So Tebow is getting more praise than Steve Young did after his Superbowl? It's got nothing to do with the internet and how you're able to hear more opinions than you were in 1994 right? And you gotta love Tebow haters who give almost 100% credit to the defense in a game where he threw for over 300 yards.

My tebow assessment pre-dates the steeler game by months and hasn't changed. So you must have me confused with someone else. he played great in that game and I tip my hat. unfortunately for him it's an extreme outlier and he preceded that game and followed it up with an epic stinkbombs. You are eventually gonna have to hang your hat on more than one game. I actually like the guy. I actually hope he does well and I love his work ethic. But I have to call them how I see them - one has to look long and hard to find worse numbers than he's put up. And let's face it - he's far from a rookie anymore. if he can't beat out the perpetually on the hot seat sanchez, how good could he be? The answer is probably, not very. At any rate I suspect you will completely disappear the next time tebow lays an egg.

Heh. Bel4 hasn't even made it to #1 yet. I don't think he'll ever get there. In three more years, when tebow still isn't starting anywhere it will be because about 16 different personnel guys didn't give him a fair chance.

LOL why would I disappear? All last season butthurt "men" like you came in complaining about Tebow. And then the Broncos won again, and again, and again. And then the angst ramps up as the wins keep piling up, because hey if all people do is complain about how he sucks and he (not the Broncos, just him) will lose, eventually they will be right.

And you biatching about him not beating Sanchez out shows you don't know shiat. Sanchez has three times the NFL starts that Tebow has. You claim he's "far from a rookie" but he is just now starting his third season, from a rookie season that saw him get three starts at the end of the season when it was already in the toilet. And he still managed to come in and throw a 300 yard game in that rookie season too. And no, I don't have to hang my hat on one win, but it was their last one, and it was against your team which is why you biatch so much.

2012-08-16 04:59:59 PM

bel4sucks: Sanchez has three times the NFL starts that Tebow has.

That's cute. You think he's gonna keep getting starts. Like there's an OC just champing at the bit for 46% completions. This ain't little league and there's no rule about playing time. He has a job because he's a decent runner who gets ink and he was basically free. i think he's got a bit of sarah palin in him and that's why he picked NY over Jax where he had a better chance of being the starter - he knows he can't actually do the job, he just wants all the shiat that comes from the media exposure of being considered for the job.

And no, I don't have to hang my hat on one win

Yeah, right. Oddly enough you mention it in every post. I can see you now long after tebow is done, huddled under a bridge screaming 'did you see the steeler game!'

Good luck Tim Tebow. You get that completion percentage and yards per game up to a middling pro level and I'll buy one of your shirts myself.

BHAHAHAHAHAHA look man next time just come back and post "i don't have shiat" with that weak ass crap. Why wouldn't I bring up the Broncos beating your team when you're not even here to make any points, you're just here to spew bullshiat.

Funny thing about dorks like you, it's always that he has to be great immediately, or he'll never do anything. There is no improving over time, there is no sitting back and learning, it's all or nothing. It shows that a spoiled biatch like you has never had to work for anything, probably some faceless middle manager.

LOL oh yeah I'm so mad. It's funny to me how you claim to praise Tebow's work ethic, yet claim he will never get better. It's funny to me you claim a guy with 16 games played should be killing a guy with what, 50 games played? All you can do is cry about completion percentage all the while ignoring wins (the only one that actually counts). Like I said before, scoreboard biatch, cause it's the only reason you come into Tebow threads crying about how much he sucks. Ya can't wrap that so called mind around the fact that someone with a completion percentage under 50% somehow managed to knock your team out of the playoffs by throwing for 300 yards.
