2012-08-15 02:54:43 PM
I think that's the first time I've heard a player just own up to it and not try to blame it on someone/something else

2012-08-15 02:55:42 PM
He actually admitted to it and apologized? That's almost refreshing.

This is good news... for the Dodgers.

//way to let down the team when they need you

2012-08-15 02:59:17 PM
I wanna know how recent this test was.

Did he NOT think he'd be in the spotlight after going from Pillsbury Doughboy to ASG MVP?

2012-08-15 02:59:33 PM
Malk Man?

2012-08-15 02:59:47 PM

WTF Indeed: Way to fark up your career the Giants chances for the postseason, moron.

Goddamitsomuch.

Small bit of relief for the Royals fans angry that they traded him for Jonathan Sanchez?

Seriously. Unless, of course, Matt Kemp's hammy explodes again.

You wonder if the Yankees knew something.

I don't think he was juicing back then. The juice doesn't give you a spare tire, does it?

WTF Indeed: You wonder if the Yankees knew something.

He's been a slightly overweight lazy outfielder that was marginal for the past 5 seasons for 3 different teams.

He loses a bunch of weight and starts performing at an all-star level due to "working harder and eating better".

Did the Royals, Braves, and Yankees all know something or has he been a lazy overweight slob that took the easy way out this year?

Nah, but a reporter on the MLB network just mentioned his friendship with Cano and you wonder if the Yankees realized he wasn't the kind of guy they wanted on their team. Even the Yankees said they wouldn't sign Melky in the offseason if they had a chance.

Well, he started "improving" towards the tail end of last season while he was still on the Royals.
That is to say, I don't necessarily think the Royals knew something, it very well may have been "shiat, this has to be a fluke. Let's deal him while the price is high."

..all this does is make me worry/hope Robbie's clean

There was also a purely on-the-field reason for having little use for him; the emergence of Brett Gardner.

Perhaps there were seedier implications about him, but I'd bet it was mostly because he was slower, fatter, and more expensive than Gardner.

As a Giants fan, I'm pissed as hell right now, but still happy with the trade, i.e. being rid of Sanchez.

and I'm still not counting them out of the playoffs.

I think it's more of the influence of Melky. Melky was lazy and they don't want a guy who is that lazy next to an All Star hitter. He's so lazy that he wants to use steroids to gain an edge. Remember how unfocused Cano was when he first came up?

I see the "change of scenery" really helped Sanchez. In 12 starts for the Royals, his K:BB rate 0.82. Jesus.

/I see he's "battled back" to an even "1" ratio on the Rockies

Cabrera hasn't been with the Yankees for 3 years...from the looks of it, Cabrera hasn't cared enough to even use steroids when he played for the Yankees.

FreakinB: Small bit of relief for the Royals fans angry that they traded him for Jonathan Sanchez?

Heh, I say that and within a few minutes I see this tweet from Rany Jazayerli (@jazayerli): "A month ago, Dayton had traded the All-Star MVP for Jonathan Sanchez. Now he's traded a PED user for Jeremy Guthrie. That's a good month."

Melk gone bad, that curdles my stomach, pretty cheesey.

Giants outfielder busted for performance-enhancing substance abuse?

Ten years and 200 home runs too late, MLBtards.

The Phillies 2nd baseman replacement also did that this year.

I saw this on a different website and only saw M...Cabrera suspended in the url and I was so mad, and then so glad that it wasn't Miguel.

Nothing To See Here: Barry Bonds seen walking away laughing . . .

Not trying to say that my headline was better, but it had something to do with ^^^

Either way, Melky can go fark himself. I knew that fat, lazy tub of goo in Atlanta couldn't legitimately get into that good of shape.

2012-08-15 03:26:13 PM
It's so damn hot! Melk was a bad choice.

2012-08-15 03:27:05 PM

bulldg4life: Aww, I liked my asterisk headline

Ha! I liked it.

Anyway, I knew there was something not quite right about that fat tub of goo who barely bat well under his weight last year while waddling around the Braves outfield part time and dogging it on the base paths was suddenly a svelte MVP slugger this year.

My experience was similar to this.

2012-08-15 03:29:49 PM
Props to him for owning up to it. I'm not going to throw a parade for somebody who broke the rules, but it's refreshing to see somebody not dig himself deeper by distributing blame.

My outlook for a Dodger post-season just brightened a bit as well.

2012-08-15 03:29:53 PM
In retrospect, this should've been obvious. I mean, he was hitting so many more HRs this season.

The Braves announcers spent the recent series discussing his change in attitude. He seemed confrontational and arrogant.

Who knew it was roid rage.

Haters gunna hate. But Giants have, for the first time in a looooooong time, a premium of hitters. We survived without Panda all summer. We should have no trouble wading through this

2012-08-15 03:30:50 PM
Every Yankees fan: "Ohhhhhhhhhhhh. Okay. That makes sense."

2012-08-15 03:31:11 PM
Gah. Too bad. It appeared as if he got his head on straight and was playing up to his once discussed potential.

Yeah, he really pulled a Manny Ramirez this time.

The Giants are currently tied atop the NL West with the Giants at 64-53.

Hmmm

I refuse to believe this until there is solid prof that his hat size is larger, since we all know such evidence is iron clad.

Doesn't anyone ever think of their fantasy owners?

Geez.

Peaceboy: He actually admitted to it and apologized? That's almost refreshing.

This is good news... for the Dodgers.

Its not reddening, he was a douche all year and giving teams that cut him or let him walk away shiat for missing out, now we know why he was so much better this year. Cheating.

F*ck you melky, die in a fire with your hotdog antics

2012-08-15 03:41:01 PM
What were his levels? Total test and T/E? Was CIR used? Come on , MLB, fight fans want to know.

This Dodger fan ain't saying a thing. ManRam got busted, too, but at least Melky had the balls (however shrunken they are) to admit it.

That being said, go Dodgers!
