Disturbia was an angsty rip off of Rear Window. And a sucky movie.

"I'm done ... There's no room for being a visionary in the studio system. It literally cannot exist."

Does he direct or something?

You're an actor. Read the farking line and try to act.

I don't mind him much at all and have really enjoyed him in a few things, but I still think it's a little shiatty to badmouth the movies that are affording you to live like a king and set you up to bone Megan Fox a few times. He's entitled to his opinion, but I'm sure he doesn't mind that finger in the ass when he's cashing the checks.

I doubt that all big studios are as bad as he says creatively. I am sure if you are talented and proven you get a great deal of freedom. I doubt the studio ever tries to tell Christopher Nolan what he can and cant do in movies anymore.

It is cute how he assumes that he will continue to be offered high profile roles in big budget movies. You can guarantee that this crapstain will end up doing commercials in Japan to pay the bills.

It's not just you. Not that they were masterpieces, but Transformers 1 and 3 would both have been better with less of him. I Robot too (though that movie had other problems also).

2012-08-15 05:58:49 PM
So we can expect to see him in the cast of "The Expendables 6"

There's a lot of Shia hate, but I like that he has the nuts to mention UFIA with regard to the shiatty Hollywood studios.

I thought it was ok, but the only movie ive seen him in and actually liked him in was "The greatest game ever played"

I saw it long after I had learned to hate him because of transformers, but it was good finally seeing him in something that didn't involve wild flailing.Kind of nice seeing him on screen and actually acting.

2012-08-15 06:17:01 PM
He's soon to be seen on movie screens mouthing words created by one Nick Cave (in my opinion one of the premiere wordsmiths of the modern age.)

The mere thought of that causes me to be extremely twitchy.

The whole premise of "We have a high level government agency plus a bunch of advanced robots from outer space running around, but the only one who has a CLUE what to do is this nerdy little pipsqueak who can't even get a job in Manhattan" just makes my brain cry.

The fact that Ms. LaBlowoff is running around screeching "BUMBLEBEEEEEE!!!!" and "Thats my CAR!!" through the whole movie makes it that much worse. Luckily, we have decent looking girls to balance everything out.

Eh, there's been far more retarded premises in entertainment that people believe without question. Check out the original Generation One series for premises that put all three of the Bayformers to shame.

Exactly. Look at actors like Patrick Stewart, Tom Hiddleston and Ian McKellen. They're all Shakesperian stage actors, but they've done sci-fi and fantasy and did really good work on really good films.

Michael Bay really doesn't give two shiats about things like character. He just wants a load of SFX on a screen.

Yea but Moranis is a class-act he might have went out on a disney straight to video release. Yet, he has
more appeal and character in his tiny pinkie toe than Shia.

People on Fark don't like this kid?

Who'd have thought. The fark collective hive mind wouldn't know bad acting if it shoved a finger up their asses. Probably big Zach Galafinakis and Dane Cook fans.

There are plenty of actors I actively dislike(sometimes based on just appearance) but can admit their ability. It's not exactly like he's been in Citizen Cane or whatever either, and the annoying plot and effects and Bay-ness of the movies in general are not the fault of the actors either. People's cognitive dissonance is frightening at times, I can imagine the hivemind trying to actually solve crimes or something important. Or consider voting(don't need imagination on that one, we've all seen the assholes in varying offices and farked up laws)...that many people CAN be wrong.

Movies like Transformers, yeah, they're sort of written in stone by execs. Look at Iron Man though, Jon Favreau (howeveryouspellit) practically let RDJ ad-lib the whole movie. For every genius actor/director combo you discover, there are a thousand others where it's a shiatty job for one or the other, or both. Yeah the money is great, no one sane will deny that, but once you get enough, why keep doing it? Why not try to get a better environment?
The one complaining isn't always in the wrong.

Shia said, "You give Terrence Malick a movie like 'Transformers', and he's f**ked. There's no way for him to exist in that world."

Sorry, but Transformers is not some existential war drama. The first one was boring enough with what little it had of the transformers in it, and you want to make it a Malick movie? Jesus Christ.

Nah, it's always been true, just that only big, well-established stars usually say it, and by then they're producers in their own right.

Shia and Megan just have delusions of grandeur.

Glad he said it, even if it is Shia, who I find just a distraction form most anything he is in.

My 12yo son was watching Transformers Dark of The Moon in an endless loop for several days when he stayed with with me this summer. I put my foot down, no more. So he sits there and watches Iron Man 2 three times in a row. It's like background music to him while he plays MW3 and learns to talk smack on comms.

Entry #2: Monkey Business

Entry #3: Touched By An Angel: The Occupant

Entry #9: Holes

Entry #11: Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle

Yeah, guess I could see where 'ol Shiara might have a bone to pick with some studio 'producers'.

Nah.

Constantine could have been great, almost every part of it was spot on and some of the supporting cast are brilliant.

Unfortunately the bad parts were Keanu's John Constantine and Shia's Chas. Both really shiat.
