Cletus C.: Satanic_Hamster: MyRandomName: Ennuipoet: I like how the GOP calls differing policy "anger and hate" but calls actual anger and hate exercising their free speech.

I wasn't aware that the romney cancer machine was policy. Also unware that calling someone a felon without proof was policy. Etc.

75% of Obama's ads are personal attacks, not policy.

You do realize that Romney has said that the commercial is not only correct but the woman would have lived if she had Romney/Obamacare, right.

You do realize you lied.

"If people had been in Massachusetts, under Governor Romney's health care plan, they would have had health care. There are a lot of people losing their jobs and losing their health care in President Obama's economy." - Romney press secretary Andrea Saul

1. Romney didn't say it, his press secretary did
2. Never said the commercial was correct. Said Romney was long gone from Bain and running the Salt Lake City Olympics when the guy was laid off. The wife had her own health plan at the time and died two years later.
3. Said she would have had coverage under Romneycare, not that the plan would have magically cured her cancer.

This kind of spin could change the rotation of the Earth.

Rapmaster2000: Places that are not Real America:
West Coast (47.8 million people)
Northeast (55,317,240 people)
Chicagoland (9,729,825 people)

So over 1/3rds of Americans are disqualified from being Real Americans as a matter of geography. Throw in all the black people that aren't JC Watts and Herman Cain, along with the gays, the feminazis, the 50% of Americans that voted for Obama, the people who went to colleges that aren't Liberty University or Texas A&M, and people who don't enjoy Lee Greenwood.

So we're left with about 10% of Americans that could ever qualify as Real Americans.

I'm curious about the people from 'Chicagoland' who don't live in Illinois think. Isn't a large part of Ryan's district 'Chicagoland'?

I love the unspoken part of this that you can only be a Real American if you live in the middle of nowhere, don't speak about politics, and are pretty much cut off from the rest of the world so you don't know anything about real opportunity. Real Americans love living in a bubble.

trotsky: Everytime Romney opens his mouth, he says something so stupid, so dumb that I am in shock that his campiagn doesn't try to reign him in. He sounds like your typical Teabilly idiot crossed with an out of touch rich guy who has never had to do anything for himself. I almost wonder if he says stupid shiat like this to "fit in" with the Teabilly shortbus morons. He is perhaps overcompensating.

To be honest, Obama knows how to campaign. He does it really, really well. Romney is also giving him plenty of ammo though and that certainly doesn't hurt. I do like how they associate Chicago with the President. It's what made the US look like a bunch of buffoons when the Olympics were getting sited in 2008.

I laugh whenever I see a Romney sticker on a car now. I laugh hard. Because that sucker has just put a semi-permanent mark of their idiocy on their car.

I love how Romney still has to pander to his base this close to the election. At this point they're either going to vote for you or not. And all of this personal shiatflinging is so classless that it really underlines how the Republicans acted for the last four years. We're simply not going to get anywhere as a nation with any Republican in a position of power because they will drag their heels.

So, the best thing Romney is doing right now is showcasing how very little the Republicans will do or want done for the next four years. They're the best evidence for their own removal from power.

(AP) Presidential candidate Mitt Romney accused President Obama of running a divisive, and hate filled campaign. The presumptive Republican Presidential candidate made the comments about "Chicago style politics" from a stump speech in Ohio where he was appealing to the negative emotions of Ohioans who have long held Chicago in contempt.

Cry more Mitt, you lying douche. Of couse Obama has the gloves off, and not based on anything more than this is what politics has become. It's a dogfight that plays out like a reality TV vote based more on flash and perception over substance. The GOP set the table for this with their mouthpiece demogogues, and other assorted scumbags like Rove. Now the Democrats turn tit for tat and Mitt is upset?

People understand most politicians, and their party is flawed, full of crooked people at all levels, who choose politics not to be benevolent or help the world but to enrich themselves. So you have to look at it like this; Both sides are bad so vote for the side that will at least leave some humanitarian and progressive programs in their wake as they run for the presidency as opposed to the side that leaves a giant fark you I got mine in their wake as they run for the presidency.

Barack Obama is most likely not a saint, but I don't think any politician is. But if his selling point that he uses is using doing decent things to buy votes, that's better to me than the party that uses fear, conjobs, and the faux promise that any American can be rich if they just persecute enough minorities and gays to buy votes.

I'll vote for his record. This talking point is stupid, it's a loaded statement assuming his record is bad. If his actual record was 10% as bad as Republicans are trying to pretend it is, you'd probably have a point. While not perfect, Obama's first term will historically be considered a successful one by anyone with half a brain considering the context of what he was dealing with.

Do they not realize that Chicago happens to be a part of America too? Obviously politicians have been exploiting the divisions between City and Country forever - but I feel like this is the first time anyone running for office has blatantly tried to turn anyone against a specific place. Hell, even Sarah Palin had the sense to make a vague "real America" comment rather than literally saying "I love being out here, as opposed to New York, which is infested with Jews, queers, and gangbangers."

Which is makes him a loser in the public eye.

People don't want to hear whining about how mean the other guy is. That's what pussies and pansies do after they get beat up by the school bully. They whine and whinge about how unfair it all is.

When attempting to engage in baseless speculation over what it is that's in Mitt Romney's tax statements that's so embarassing he'd rather take the heat for non-disclosure, I think it's important to remember that he was actively running for president in 2007 and 2008. That means it's relatively unlike he was doing anything during those years that he thought couldn't withstand scrutiny. So why not release a nice even five years of tax data? Perhaps because of something that happened in 2009.

Something like this:

Wealthy U.S. taxpayers, concerned about an Internal Revenue Service crackdown on the use of secret overseas bank accounts as tax havens, are rushing to meet a Thursday deadline to disclose those accounts or face possible criminal prosecution. The concern was triggered this summer when Switzerland's largest bank, caught up in an international tax evasion dispute, said it would disclose the names of more than 4,000 of its U.S. account holders.

The decision shattered a long-held belief that Swiss banks would guard the identities of its American customers as carefully as they did their money, and it raised concern that other international tax havens might be next. Under an amnesty program, the IRS is allowing taxpayers to avoid prosecution for having failed to report their overseas accounts. As a result, tax attorneys across the nation have been besieged by wealthy clients who are lining up to apply even though they will still face big financial penalties.

Romney might well have thought in 2007 and 2008 that there was nothing to fear about a non-disclosed offshore account he'd set up years earlier precisely because it wasn't disclosed. But then came the settlement and the rush of non-disclosers to apply for the amnesty. Failing to apply for the amnesty and then getting charged by the IRS would have been both financially and politically disastrous. So amnesty it was. But even though the amnesty would eliminate any legal or financial liability for past acts, it would hardly eliminate political liability.

Nixon was a paper pusher who never served a single day at sea or under fire. The closest he came to combat was watching the planes do touch-and-goes at NAS Ottumwa. That's Ottumwa, Iowa. He eventually was placed in command of cargo handling units in the South Pacific. Like Mr. Roberts, but unloading the ships. From the land. Nixon got seasick very easily. Unlike Kennedy, LBJ and Ford, Nixon was never in harm's way. (Rumour has it that he, JFK, LBJ and Ford were all on the same island at the same time to catch a Bob Hope USO show but nothing confirming that other than they were all on the same island sometime during the war, just not all four at the same time.) But he was always there with the forms correctly filled out (or in, if you prefer) and typed in triplicate. As a Quaker he could have applied for a draft deferment, but he felt he could advance his ambitions better by wearing a uniform. It was either that or replying to complaints letters to the Tire Rationing Division of the OPA. And besides, he rose to LTC, qualified for a pension, one of 5 he received at the end. Except for the years 1960 to 68 Nixon lived on government cheques.
