Well, they should have known that was false when someone said Community was watchable.

I'm not usually the kind of person who says this kind of thing, but if you don't like Community there's seriously something wrong with you.

Not really. The weird thing is I love 30 Rock and I enjoy Parks and Rec if I don't have to see too much Aziz Ansari. But Community is just too weird.

Community is one of the best shows on tv.

and I'm glad this lady is not dead.

I have the exact opposite reaction. Adore Community, could never get into Parks and Rec or 30 Rock.

Started watching community based on FARK recommendations so I could get to the Doctor Who spoof.

Stopped watching after five episodes because reruns of Margaret Thatcher during question time were more entertaining.

But the short-lived hoax fooled several Twitter users, including ABC News' senior White House Correspondent Jake Tapper.

"WHOOPS fake account apologies. deleting." Tapper later tweeted.

Wow, that's some great journalisming there, Jake. Isn't there a Dancing with the Stars update more to your speed?

For a "sitcom", it's hard to jump into it midstream and really enjoy it. Especially if you tried doing so during the third season, in which most of the gags were just masturbatory meta jokes.

/I like the show, but I realize its faults.

I really want to like Community. I don't, though as a fan of Arrested Development I do sympathize with Community's loyal viewers in their frustration with NBC.

Pretty much. I'd pre-order the DVD seasons of "Alison Brie Doing Boring, Mundane Things That No One Should Find Interesting".

You farkers got me interested in the show, so I watched all three seasons - 72 episodes - over a period of four days. It would've been three days but there was some interruption in my life on the 3rd half-day.

Anyway, good show.

As a leftie, what I've seen of Maggie Thatcher at Question Times in the Commons showed that she was a vicious harpy presiding over a government of robber barons and buffoons, and that she had the kind of poise, showmanship and tactical sense that people on our side can only dream of having. As long as you didn't mind the compulsion to yell at the screen, televised Question Time would have been great entertainment.

The comparison to Arrested Development is apt in more ways than one. It seems like the show's writers are purposely making Community as ridiculous as possible lately since, hey, we're gonna get cancelled anyway.

Is it just me, or is every sitcom on NBC pretty much exactly the "same" except for character name changes and location differences?

No, there are two different kinds: those with laugh tracks and those without.

(Those without are the better ones... I'm looking at you "Whitney".)

I've never seen Thatcher during Question Time. But I thought Blair did a great job for similar reasons (before the Iraq War).

This last season of Community wasn't very good, although Remedial Chaos Theory is one of the best episodes of any TV show of all time. The rest of it was mediocre. The Pillow Fort episode was especially a let down; they should have stuck w/ Paintball.

But this past season of 30 Rock was one of their best. They had been coasting, not really going anywhere, and all of a sudden they pull out a great season, start to finish.

2012-08-15 04:41:19 PM
Lots of people blame Thatcher for making tough choices and doing unpopular things but never seem to lay the blame at the doors of successive governments and union leaders whose short sighted incompetence made Thatcher necessary in the first place.

2012-08-15 04:43:02 PM
I don't get it.. article says nothing about community?

Give it another shot. At least watch the first Halloween episode. That's where I, and most other fans, say it starts to come into its own. If you don't like it after that then you'll never like it.

Me too. Those others are incredibly boring, but even a bad Community episode has its great moments, and the good ones are genius. I really hope it does OK with the new producers. I think the shorter season is probably a good thing.

/I want to eat spaceman paninis with black hitler and you can't stop me!

MBZ321: Is it just me, or is every sitcom on NBC pretty much exactly the "same" except for character name changes and location differences?

It's just you. Just because "The Office" and "Parks and Rec" are shot in the faux-documentary way doesn't mean that every show is the same (one clear difference between those two shows is that P&R is still worth watchin). 30 Rock and Community are two wholly original shows.

2012-08-15 07:58:35 PM
Community is the greatest sitcom (if you can call it that) of all time. OF ALL TIME. Somewhat better than Scrubs, which is the next closest thing in terms of complete randomness...

Office? Parks & Rec? How are those even on the air? They're as boring as watching a snail ride a turtle.

2012-08-15 08:31:46 PM
I finally gave community a watch since so many people seem to love it. Watched every episode from the beginning on Hulu and have to say, it's just meh...

A few episodes are pretty funny but most of them don't even get a chuckle out of me.

30 rock was fantastic this season! I kept the season finale on my DVR and re-watched it at least 8 times. Cracked me up every time!
