Has Mitt even released one full year yet?

I get the feeling that his 2009 return is a steaming pile of outrage.

Why is it always Ann addressing the tax returns?

Gonna send her to "get tough with China" too, Mitt?

No he says that he released two years because he has promised to release 2011 in October.

When Romney ran for Gov of MA he refused to release taxes, despite accusations that MA was not his residency. He literally kept saying "you'll have to take my word for it." When the board of elections finally verified his residency, he got caught lying. He had to "retroactively" update his tax records.

He's literally said "you'll have to take my word" on his taxes in the past, all while lying through his teeth. Why should we trust him again?

They've had a year to get out in front of any issues with the tax returns. What's in there MUST be a doozy.

Pretty sad that his VP is willing to release more than he is, even if it's only a measly 2 years' worth.

No, they've had since 2002 when this was an issue for his election for Governor.
At a minimum, they've had since 2007, when Mitt started running for President.

So when you question why the tax returns aren't being released, you're accused of attacking the honor of the candidate's wife.

Six years. Romney's been trying to be president for six years. And he ran for public office twice before that. He must be doing something that is both terrible and is a compulsion he can't control. Maybe he claims cocaine as a business expense or something.

Because they mistakenly believe that she connects better with "the little people" than Mitt ever could.

We won't release our tax returns and we won't tell you the specifics of our tax policy until after the election. So vote for us.

The fact that he showed McCain so many tax returns to cross the threshold of being a VP candidate, and won't release the same to the electorate, simply doesn't pass the smell test.

It would wreck'em and they know it. And it's not some complicated accounting thing, it's something so simple anyone could understand and most would be pissed about, something that would cause a swing voter to say, "Oh, fnck you."

Like a year of paying no income tax on millions.

The problem is . . . now that Romney's repeatedly refused to release his taxes, at some point something will leak, and it'll be an even larger scandal than if he'd made them public himself because he'll have been trying to hide it.

Especially in the unlikely even that he gets elected. Can you imagine the scandal that would cause? It would be like Edwards being president when his scandal broke, but worse. Especially if Romney avoided prosecution for tax evasion by taking the 2009 amnesty.

We can see Romney's tax returns as soon as Obama releases his 7th grade field trip permission slip.

Does anyone else think that Romney is a farking asshole just for dragging that wife of his who has a condition that is known to be aggravated by stress into the world of a Presidential election? I couldn't imagine doing that to a woman I Ioved.

It was a small matter of time before the taxes came back. Romney pulled the trigger on his Veep selection early to take the heat off. But it'll be put back on in short order.

Yes, because it's not like that attention would go away in the off chance he gets elected president.

Because it would be a pain in the ass to get a hod of if it even exists in the first place. And the point that who the fark cares? Romney's taxes are pertinent.Obama's GPA is not. Those of us who worked in college with real majors knows that the grade Obama got in "Lawyer Jackoffery 101" means dick.

And even if he did give up his transcripts, there would just be something else meant to throw everyone off. Romney's taxes though, are very pertinent and anyone who says otherwise is just being a partisan douche because you know you'd be crying if Obama didn't give is up by now.

nah
releasing them would have made him lose the nomination. which is WHY he is releasing them after the convention. WHERE is the GOP leadership in this? Why havent they taken a stance and informed him that he is not allowed at the convention unless he fixes this problem??
LOL

And that will make a lot of Republicans who are in the middle or lower class say, "Right on! Damn the Man!", without a hint of irony.

this coal miner's granddaughter is much more than an owner of an Olympic dressage horse.

Ah, that old hat. I thought we would draw the line at "daughter of a coal miner," but I guess granddaughter is close enough ties to those hardships.

Should we start a betting pool on what is actually in there? I am betting that somehow he was continuing to write-off expenses from his time with the Salt Lake Olympics for several years after the Olympics were done. How much depreciation do you think he claimed on the buildings that built for that?
