Biden's too cozy with the MAFIAA. Dumping him from the ticket wouldn't be a bad move.

2012-08-15 09:09:22 AM
What's the problem, was he too frank for your taste? Go cry, irrelevant lady.

Why are we still hearing about her in the news, anyway?

2012-08-15 09:15:21 AM
The Republicans don't even want to hear from you, Palin. Why would the Democrats?

Keep him on the ticket. Every time he opens his mouth and sticks his feet into it is a reminder to the independents that the moron is only a heartbeat away from the presidency.

Biden - will get more votes for Romney than he will for Obama.

He'll get right on that, honey. Now scoot along and make sure Bristol isn't getting knocked up with any more bastard grandchildren, then go cram your gullet with more Chick-fil-A.

yeah, she's real concerned about Obama's chances. I'm sure.

I do have to say, I'm kinda rooting for Todd in that "Stars Earn Stripes" show. he's a beast.

There is no electoral math -- NONE -- that doesn't say we should at least explore replacing Hoynes on the ticket.

Whoa, was that him? I was flipping through the other night and I thought it was either him, or a former winner from Biggest Loser.

It's getting so hard to differentiate between reality television regulars these days.

I can't stand Palin and I hate the Republicans, but Biden saying " they're gonna put y'all back in chains" isn't a good phrase to use.

Sounds like someone has been watching political animals and thinks it is based on real life events, and with Palin's inability to determine fantasy from reality it could be the reason.

Yeah, that was pretty stupid. It may not necessarily be racist, but it was at least a shiatty attempt at pandering, and IMHO tasteless.

Aww...that's so sweet that she thinks her opinion on politics matters any more.

To be fair, the GOP was put into a tailspin with Obama on the ticket. They were primed and ready with tons of material to sling at Hillary last go around. They have been primed and ready to go at her for years, and when she failed to congeal as the Presidential candidate, it put the machine into all sorts of disorder. They have a TON of material and witnesses and articles already written and just sitting there, lonely in files, and at this point, there isn't a lot of new material to throw at Biden, so trying to shake up the VP slot, where Ryan is going to be weak as Hells, it's not entirely a bad strategy. But using Palin to deliver the idea is just sort of sad, considering how badly she got embarrassed by the man.

Rove couldn't deliver it though, and after years of slinging poop at Hillary, there are few commentators who could try to insert this particular worm in the media ear. It isn't quite desperation, but it certainly smells a bit like it...

Would the goal be to jeopardize Obama's campaign which is ahead by nearly 4 points or to win by a greater margin?

I like how the father of an Iraq War veteran is trivializing military service on some glorified game show. Anything for a buck, I guess.

Well, they are selling the show (and Clark is claiming he is on it only for) as something to showcase and show the difficult work the armed forces do to protect our country. The "stars" are there because most reality shows feel like they need "star" power, especially on network TV (a cable version of this might have gone with just all military teams).

I am not saying you can't look at it as "trivializing" it, but, they are going out of their way to not present it as "trivial", at least in their words.

I like Biden. He gets a pass. He usually tells the truth frankly instead of prettily.
His heart's always in the right place. No harm, no foul.

When the Democrats need advice on electoral strategy, I'm sure the first name that pops into their heads is "Sarah Palin".

Did you see/hear the whole context of it?
Definitely poor phrasing, but really this is "you didn't build that" 2.0

Clinton is too soft a target for the right-wing derp machine. She might be able to weather being at the top of the ticket, but anything less and she'll just be a drag.

2012-08-15 12:09:54 PM
I doubt Hillary wants it. She'll distance herself from the Obama administration, so she can run on her own brand in 2016. Biden will run as Obama's successor.

Actually, I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that they both had the quote in context and mentioned that Republicans have used similar language in the past.

Good try Sarah, but I don't think they're going to fall for your cunning ruse.

/And by cunning ruse I mean blatantly transparent attempt to create a distraction and disrupt the Democratic party.

She'll probably switch sides now that her fans are ignoring her.

Replacing Biden with Hillary Clinton would be an excellent way to lose my vote. I would absolutely go Green Party.

Palin, speaking on Fox News, called Biden's comment "disgusting" considering the southern Virginia town where he was speaking is almost 50 percent black. (The Obama campaign has rejected the suggestion that the remark was in any way racial.)

Wait, I thought this was settled by the Right. It is NOT a racist statement? They use it for the last 4 years, and rend their garments and wail when someone says that THEY are racist, yet when the Left says the same thing, suddenly it IS racist?

Has anyone got the program for this game? I'm getting a little confused, is the pitcher supposed to kick the field goal when it's 15-Love, and the Russian judge only scored a 2.5, because our Vice President fell of the balance bean when he gave his speech, or is it time for a penalty shot on the ice because the free throw line is missing its badminton net?

2012-08-15 12:18:50 PM
If Obama taps Hillary as his running mate you can add one new job to the economy: Presidential food taster.

If they really wanted to make that show tough, they should put these "stars" in wool, steel M1 helmets and have them face simulated Banzai charges for days on end with no sleep and K-Rations. Or, alternately, take them to some very cold location, given them inadequate winter clothing, steel helmets, occasional supply drops and mix it all up with a good helping of mud, then send them against the simulated cream of the German army.

That would be something I would watch,.

The very existence of that mockery-fest makes me want to smack somebody right upside the head with my pamphlet on non-violence. It is a crying shame that Col.Clark has decided to follow Col. Powell down the infamous road to personal disgrace. Unless he plans to use this show as a platform to 1) call for an end to our wars and various military engagements 2) advocate for our troops by calling for such programs as: a Veterans' Work Corp, decreased red tape in accessing medical and psychological benefits, and veteran targeted housing solutions; his profiting via the exploitation of military personnel can neither be ignored nor denied.

I like Biden. I think he's a perfect Vice President. He gets to be a little goofy, a little mean, while Obama gets to be Presidential.

I love Biden, he says whatever is on his mind and doesn't give a shiat. Sometimes this results in a gaff, sometimes this results in the President and the Democratic Party putting their support behind LBGT rights and same sex marriage.
