Michael Jordan has always been a colossal douchebag.

2012-08-14 08:42:55 PM
If he can't afford to tip waitstaff, how can you expect him to help someone who torpedoed his career and kept him from success?

2012-08-14 08:45:26 PM
That's the problem with fame and fortune. You make it big, and everyone you've ever known demands a piece of you. You earn a fistful of dollars, and everyone demands that you use the money to wipe their ass.

Disturbing Porn Choreographer: Michael Jordan has always been a colossal douchebag.

This.

If you have ever seen his house down the road from me in The Bear's Club, you would be as personally sick as the people who live there are disgusted at the horrible architecture and strip-mall type feel of the layout.

Not to mention no members will schedule a tee time within an hour of him and his entourage.

Did anybody tell Jordan about this, or did the family of the man ask him for help? Is he supposed to keep track if everybody he ever had contact with in his life? The article says that the man's family all basically ran out on him, so how was Jordan supposed to know what was going on with him?

Why isn't Michael Jordan condemning the terrorists?

Great player, not so much a great human being.

I mean he must feel good about himself knowing that there are kids out there with barely anything to their name that will kill/attack each other just so they can wear $200+ sneakers that were probably made for 3 bucks in some sweatshop.

Michael Jordan is a petty vindictive prick. If Karma was more powerful, he would lose all his farking money gambling and be destitute on the street.

Or do I not make enough money?

I hate my high school coach too. I don't care what shoes he's wearing.

And you also have to check up on him on a regular basis for the rest of his life to make sure that he is ok and to offer him help whenever needed. I'm assuming this also goes for any teacher you had in college and the guy who trained you on your first day of work.

2012-08-14 09:10:44 PM
What about the 500 players he coached? I don't like Jordan at all, but why is this his responsibility? Where are all the teachers and principals this coach worked with? No one else from that high school ever succeeded? No one other than Jordan benefited from a relationship with the coach? No one ever called the coach "friend"?

Has the author considered that Pop raped Jordan in the showers at that high school

I mean - ALL SUMMER - all I heard about was Scottie Pippen's testimony regarding "rhythmic slapping" and how Horace Grant didn't report it to the police.

MonkeyButton: fark you Jordan.

You don't seem to like Michael Jordan.

You should have had Sandusky, you cock sucker.

As a result, you wish that Michael Jordan had been repeatedly ass-raped when he was a young boy, so that he would know real pain.

I hope you get Sickle Cell Anemia.

Because Michael Jordan is black, you wish that he would contract a life-threatening black illness and then die in pain.

Yes, you appear to be a white sports fan. Congratulations on your course of life.

Not at all. But there is no doubt that part of the Michael Jordan mystique was that he got cut from his high school team and ended up becoming the greatest basketball player in the world. Despite the fact that this was untrue, Michael Jordan perpetuated the lie about his coach in order to enhance his life story. Michael Jordan profited from the lie. I'm sure it did nothing to help his coach as his life spiraled downward.

I doubt you turned your own life story into hundreds of millions based, in part, on perpetuating lies about any of your asshole high school teachers. If you did, I would think you would at least help that teacher out when he was down and you had the capability to do so. Anyone who wasn't a douchenozzle would. That's exactly why Michael Jordan never will.

I fail to see how an old coach would have any impact in whether or not someone won the lottery.

If this story were about Jordan's seventh grade social studies teacher, I would agree that it is ridiculous to assume Jordan should help him out.

Jordan perpetuated a lie that this man cut him in order to further his life story and make a shiat ton of money. Now the man has hit rock bottom. There is no reason to think Jordan will help him because Jordan is an asshole. A decent person would.

I'm pretty sure he profited from being the best basketball player who ever played. The being cut in high school thing was merely a nice anecdote the media ran with and that parents would tell their kids when they were cut from teams.

2012-08-14 09:35:43 PM
Just a note to the entitled dumbasses in this story and here on fark - when you take a take a crap on someone when they're down - even if they are badly in the wrong - they are going to repay if they can, and you can't complain in any way.

Jordan made his money playing basketball. This man was his high school basketball coach. There is a connection.

If Jordan never speaks about his coach again, he would still be incredibly rich. No problem. He owes his high school coach nothing.

Jordan chose to enhance his life story by lying about his coach. This coach has now hit rock bottom. That's where the problem lies.

2012-08-14 09:39:50 PM
so by most rationale here, if any person in Jordan's life had the slightest bit, real or imaginary, impact in his life, then Jordan owes him or her and must jet to their rescue or he is subject to all the scorn the basemented farkers can muster?

How about you all pitch in a help the guy out and stop telling others how to spend their money or their charity.

The problem is, he told a lie about his old coach. In my book, that's called slander. Did the fallout from the lie make it harder for Pop to get jobs down the line because people believed the lie? Did friends, family and neighbors turn their back on Pop because of MJ's lie? Who knows. Bottom line is, the lie about Pop may have been a one-liner throw-away joke for MJ, but it's wound up defining Pop's entire life.

And for that, yea, subby's right. MJ kinda sucks.

Look, the mere fact that Jordan was the greatest basketball player ever gives him legendary status. If you think the whole "I was cut from my high school team and then became the greatest of all time" story wasn't played up to enhance that legend then I really don't know what to tell you.
