Was Java involved in this escape as well? I hear that distant relative umpteenth times removed Edlin tried to help but needed five pages of instructions just to load the initial files.

You'd think making a Visual acquisition of a loose snake would be a Basic thing for most people.

How would you catch a loose python, anyway? With a .net?

toraque: How would you catch a loose python, anyway? With a .net?

It's a pet, so probably docile. I'd grab its tail and work my way up, hand over hand, until I could grab it behind the head.

Well, you'd have to sneak up on it to do that, and that might be hard considering the quality of their vision. I hear they can see sharp.

I hope they were careful capturing Perl. Unless they 'use strict;' it's problem gotten away and left quite a mess in its wake.

2012-08-14 05:16:17 PM
Maybe instead of a Python it was some other type of venomous snake. Maybe an ASP?

Hitting it on the head with a c pan works better.

Since it is Seattle, there should be a Java stand close by, but if the neighborhood is bad watch out for the junkies strung out on PHP.

Just /bin/bash it over the head.

Well, Idle and Cleese were accounted for at the time - no way they could get from where they were to Seattle in time. That leaves Palin, Jones, Gilliam and the reincarnation of Chapman as suspects. I totally suspect that it was Chapman.

\what, no one was going for it, someone had to.

Sweet, if Chapman's been reincarnated, that means they can do a SQL to The Holy Grail!

I offered to take the house cat over to Cowen for a walk. His momma-cat wasn't overly happy about the thought or offer. Silence isn't golden, it is a hammer.

Both of those are far more likely to harm or kill you than a few big snakes.

And you can always eat the snakes and make clothes form their skins.

Witnesses, speaking through an interpreter, sed the event was awk-ward.

FTFA The snake was reported missing by a man who hangs out on University Way Northeast - better known as The Ave - and has carries the python as a pet, Graves said.

WTF am I reading? "[A] man who hangs out"? Hangs out? Someone who is apparently employed by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer uses the phrase "hangs out" to describe a person in their story?

Is that in the style book these days?

Please allow me to interpret-
The guy who lost in while he was sleeping or partying in the park is most likely homeless and a junkie. He 'hangs out' ie, pandhandles and drinks coffee on the Ave while wearing his snake. Bonus if he writes poetry or plays a guitar while doing so.

I had lunch in Cowen park last week so I'm getting a kick, etc. I hope the python slinks it's way in Whole Foods and cozies up to some SAHM and her organic diaper clad kid. How PC would that be?

Btw subs, headline was lame.

I am glad they described the snake. otherwise people could confuse it with some other 7 foot python in the Seattle's parks.

2012-08-14 06:27:37 PM
It's important to have a small talk with a python to C what kind of scheme they want to put forth. If you can decipher their awkward squeaky lisp you may find that they possess an array of perls of wisdom; some may tcl you, others you might think are a total brainfark, but at least your chances of getting basic clojure will be greater than a snobol's in hell.

I think it was a PC attempt to describe the homeless youth that plague that street.

What's with all the python link?

Who's Farker that got a new snake and Googling snake news?

Perl > Python. Lua(JIT) > Python. Everything > Python.
