Ok, well...ARE those claims slanderous? DID R'Money say he'd let loose the leash on banks in his first 100 days?

Maybe not chains, but certainly constrained to the plantation and surrounded by guards with shoot-to-kill authority.

When nearly every American is saddled with debts that they will not be able to pay off in their lifetime and all Americans are saddled with national debt that wont be paid off in our childrens' lifetimes then yes I feel that the analogy has some merit regarding the financial industry.

UPDATE: Romney campaign spokeswoman Andrea Saul calls Biden remarks "slanderous," urges Obama to denounce them.

So when is Romney going to denounce statements made by members of his campaign that what Obama is doing is socialism and trying to destroy the Constitution and all that other batch of horrendous steaming pile of lies? Don't dish it out if you can't take it, crybaby.

Considering the amount of voter suppression going on in this election from the GOP, I think he's correct.

And Mitt is already whining.

and all the while making the blacks believe that the 'rats are "gettin' back at whitey" for them.

Did Romney release his tax returns yet? Then I don't really care what he, or any of his inept staff, think about anything.

Its like the GOP forgot what happened in 2008. Biden makes his fair share of gaffes, sure. But I think he honestly does it to lower the expectations of his rivals. Look at the 2008 Biden-Palin debates for instance. I really think he is trying to paint a picture that makes him look foolish so that Ryan goes into the debates completely over-confident and under prepared. And quite honestly with how arrogant both Romney and Ryan are, they'll buy, just like Palin.

That's a little harsh isn't it?

It's not like Republicans want to take away workers rights, eliminate safety regulations, eliminate minimum wage, eliminate medicare, privatize Social Security to the same people that caused the 2008 financial collapse, eliminate banking regulations, tax the middle class more and let you drown in debt. Oh wait.....

The idea is that welfare programs are specifically targeted at minorities to create a dependence - why would someone work if they can get a check every month and a refrigerator and a government funded cell phone? Once that dependence takes root, the Democrats have a consistent source of votes because they don't want to get off the dole and work...which is understandable, because of how easy the Democrats make it. At some point in the past, the two options were offered - freedom to succeed or fail from the Republicans and guaranteed mediocrity from the Democrats - and the minorities largely chose the latter because it's a much easier choice.

And, because the Democrats cater these programs to minorities, they can take refuge in race baiting. If you want to cut medical care for the poor, they say it's because you hate black people...when it's really the Democrats' fault in the first place for promoting policies that drove minorities into the arms of a welfare system in the first place. So there's no way to try to inspire gangstas and hip-hop thugs to actually work for a living; something not helped by this 'White' House holding hip-hip BBQs and deaf poetry. Obama's the real racist. Or something.

Yeah, I'm sure Joe will get around to apologizing. Can't wait for his double down.

The GOP apparently can't cope with this type of rhetoric when it's turned on them. And it being largely true has to sting a bit as well.

I'm concerned that candidates who are so emotionally sensitive and easily offended would not be have the true grit required the terrorist threats facing America. If Romney and Ryan tremble at a comment from Joe Biden, I can only imaging the quivering mass of emotional jello they would become if Al Quaeda staged another attack on our homeland. They are acting like school kids who've been shoved by a bully, crying to their mothers. A true American would stand up, dust off, put his jaw out and swing back.

Those are the leaders we need defend us from the terrorists. Not the overly sensitive pantywaists.

Democrats appear to have learned the tactic of smacking your opponent, letting them pathetically sputter and fume for a few days, then smacking them from another direction. Repeat as necessary until your opponent is a gun-shy wretch, like the Democrats were for years.

Well, also consider that this is a main Romney Campaign tactic. Every time there's an ad or speech which is critical of them, they cry that it's "unprecedented negativity." Anyone who pays attention will know this is stupid, but most people don't pay that much attention. Coupled with how well persecution complexes play amongst the base...

Oh, he's every bit all there. And very smart. He just doesn't necessarily seem to have the same compulsion to guard, process and restrain a thought before he says it. Or he does, and doesn't give a fark sometimes (I think calculated "gaffe"s and "doesn't give a fark"s are more likely than lack of careful attention).

He's more your "weird uncle" who plays puzzle games with your kids and gives them science-lab presents at Christmas, then bores you with explanations about recent astronomy discoveries or some obscure literary critique... ...then tells a wildly inappropriate joke because, fark it, it's funny and makes a point.

I mean, he was chair of the Judiciary Committee and the Foreign Relations Committee, FFS. And yet, somehow, some people seem to believe, "yeah, he's an idiot."

I like him. A lot. An excellent augmentation to Obama's abilities, and I hope he doesn't get replaced for the 2012 run for some ridiculous political-marketing reason.

Prisoners? And besides, why is referencing slaves inherently races? There is no race of slaves, after all. Sure, black people were slaves. But so were jewish people. And there are plenty of people still slaves today, even in this country-generally victims of an underground sex trade, of all races and skin tones. And yes, sometimes they're held in chains.

By suggesting Biden's racist simply for maybe possibly referring to slavery, you've clearly revealed yourself as the REAL racist.

I know, Romney's response was pathetic and boring.

It would be more amusing to sigh dramatically and say, "That statement from Biden is rather sad.The Obama Administration has clearly suffered enough, and I want to extend my sincere sympathy to the President."

I don't think his remarks were that big of reach. I've got evangelical fundamentalist friends that have pointed out several times that "in the Bible" Christ never actually said he was against slavery, he merely stated that if you owned slaves, that you should treat them fairly. This was the same point made by Southern slave holders as a justification of Biblical support of slavery. Most of you that don't live in an area filled with a far-right conservative population really have no idea how evil these bastards really are.

The comments section, letters to editor, and editorials of my local paper parrot Free Republic and occasionally Storefront. You think I kid, but if you framed the proposal of putting 'welfare queen's, crack heads, food stampers, and --------------------- (add your own racial slur here)" in chains and back in the fields, it would pass here by an overwhelming majority.

Yeah, I get that. And the "Biden is a gaffe machine" meme has been a mainstay of this site for the last 4 years. But ever since the Ryan announcement there's been a new layer added to it, the "Biden is dumber than Ryan, and Ryan will eat him alive in the debates" layer.

As you were typing that paragraph up, did you REALIZE that you were quite possibly typing the most retarded thing in the history of the internet? I mean, at any point, did you say to yourself, "Hey retard, you do realize that this is the kind of thing that can only be said by somebody who is missing a chromosome, right?" You can't be THAT stupid, I mean, you were somehow able to sit down at a computer, turn it on, go to fark.com, and log in with your username and password, so you are at least semi-functional. Then, you were somehow able to spew that pile of horse*hit onto your screen, THEN actually put the "add comment" button at least once, so it isn't like you are so stupid that you can't post on the internet...I mean, you really need to sign up for some kind of scientific research project. Somehow you are a functioning human being, yet you are SO stupid, that it doesn't seem possible for you to have made it to the point in you life where you can run a computer without killing yourself by sticking a fork in an electrical outlet...
