Unorthodox:
It's not quite news... but I'd certainly want to hear about this... I think this would be the appropriate audience for this announcement, so yes, I believe it is Fark material.

PegMo:
Yes. Yes it is...
Where they sell spatulas... and that's all!

Not many people know this, but the turtle is actually Nature's suction cup!

Look! It sticks!

I can't watch this, I can't watch this,
I can't watch this, I can't watch this,

My my my my TV makes me, so bored,
Makes me say, oh my lord.
What is this garbage here?
Want to cover my eyes and plug my ears,
It sucks, and thats no lie,
It's about as much fun as watching paint dry,
Lowers my, IQ one notch, and thats the reason why (Uh!) I can't watch.

I told you homeboy, I can't watch this,

Primus: There are great cult movies that are discontinued by major video suppliers every year. I got my copy of UHF from a Blockbuster video I worked at. There were tons of movies I got while working there that Blockbuster was just going to destroy. Death Race 2000, Rock-n-Roll High School, and Labryinth were some others, that have since been re-released, but at the time weren't available for sale. It's a corporate scam to keep great cult movies out of the hands of the public, I tell you!

"Now Mrs. Weaver, you can keep your red Snapper, or you can go for the box that Hirosan is bringing out right now! What's it gonna be?"

Tick tock tick tock

"I'll take the box! The Box!"

"She'll take the box! Let's see what's in the box!"

Hirosan lifts the box.

"Nothing! Absolutely nothing! Stupid! You're so stupid!"

PS. I can't even get my wife to watch Kentucky Fried Movie. She hates it.

2001-11-16 11:37:47 PM
Ethanoic, you are so right! A while ago I was looking for deathrace 2000, and I couldn't find it anywhere, and of course, same with UHF.
Even some Troma movies are supposedly 'unavailable'... I've been looking for Tromeo and Juliet forever!!!
It's a conspiracy!! lol

2001-11-16 11:39:14 PM
EddieMoscone:Kentucky Fried Movie was a film of extraordinary magnitude. You have my gratitude.

2001-11-16 11:41:21 PM
UHF is my favorite movie.

Yes, I'm that sad.

OK, Weaver, you can keep your red snapper, or...

YOU CAN GO FOR WHAT'S IN THE BOX THAT ITO-SAN IS BRINGING DOWN THE AISLE RIGHT NOW!

2001-11-16 11:43:21 PM
It's like they've taken my soul and put it in DVD format!

HOT DAMN!

Kentucky Fried Movie: The last (or close) when the guy is making out with his girl, and the newscasters are getting into it and screaming, etc. Priceless.

My wife too just stares at it stonefaced. She'll hang on every word on her damned One Life To Live, but KFM, she just sits there. Wow.

2001-11-16 11:45:06 PM
Laf, I should learn to read the replies before I post. I just got too damn excited.

I really hope this is the director's cut, and that they show the hundreds of outtakes from the no-cut scene with Al catching thrown grapes in his mouth while having a conversation.

CONAN THE LIBRARIAN!

Doant yoo no the Dewey Decimal system?

2001-11-16 11:45:54 PM
Al is trying to get this DVD out next year, and to include some extra material such as outtakes, and maybe a commentary. I've seen it sell for $45 on eBay! (got mine for $18) Hopefully he'll have it out in time for the next album/tour. Woohoo!

2001-11-16 11:47:24 PM
I've always wanted to rent Catholic High School Girls in Trouble but could never find it at the video store. Go figure.

2001-11-16 11:48:54 PM
Oh, and the Buckaroo Banzai DVD has the release date of Jan 4, 2002 as well.... *drools*

2001-11-16 11:50:08 PM
Hooray! UHF on DVD = cool. And I agree, Stanley is great. He's what makes the movie.

George: Stanley, would you like to have your own TV show?

Stanley: Ok, but do I still get to be the janitor?

2001-11-16 11:51:55 PM

2001-11-16 11:52:12 PM
Yes, I love UHF! I have the "soundtrack", which has some of the songs, a few commercial sounds (Spatula City, Ghandi III, but no Conan the Librarian), and even a few original songs and parodies ("Spam" from REM's "Stand", and "The Biggest Ball Of Twine in Minnesota").

2001-11-16 11:52:47 PM
Cool, UHF coming soon and Buckaroo Banzai in Jan 2002. There is a god!

2001-11-16 11:57:19 PM
Wait! That was "Gandhi II", not "Ghandi III"! Damn you, Krik81!

So early next morning we loaded up the car
With potato skins and pickeled weiners,
Spiderman comics, crossword puzzles, and Mama's homemade
rhubarb pie.
Pulled out of the driveway and the neighbors, they all
waved Good-bye!
As we traveled down the long and winding interstate in
our '53 DeSot-a
Cause we're gonna see the Biggest Ball of Twine in
Minnesota!

2001-11-16 11:58:23 PM
It's been... one week since we got to see...
cheatin' lovers and cousins that marry!

Got an AK-47, well you know it makes me feel alright!

This has made 2001 worth it.

2001-11-17 12:30:31 AM
I just wanna be the first to say...Life is like a mop. Sometimes life gets full of dirt and crud and hairballs and things and you gotta clean it out. You gotta stick it in here and rinse it off and start all over again. And sometimes life sticks to the floor so much that a mop, a mop, it's not good enough. You gotta get down there with like a toothbrush, you know, and you gotta really scrub 'cause you gotta get it off! But if that doesn't work, you can't give up! You gotta stand right up! You gotta run to a window and say, "These floors are dirty as hell, and I'm not gonna take it any more!"

I can't wait for the DVD. I was lucky enough to get my VHS copy for $4.00 at some resale store. Definitely one of my top-10 favorite movies. Anyone ever see the Saturday morning show Weird Al used to do back in '97? I have every damn episode on tape still.

2001-11-17 12:31:49 AM
This MUST happen. That's one of my favorite movies ever, and you should ALL buy the soundtrack to it. It's one of Al's best albums ever. "The Biggest Ball of Twine in Minnesota" and the required Polka song are so damned good!
