Since I never got a chance to address the Darth Vader Do Not Want subtitle from a few years ago, I'll do that now.

Yeah, the translation is really shiatty, but to be absolutely fair to the guy who did the translations for that one, there is no exact one-to-one translation for the word "No" in Chinese in that context. Chinese lacks a direct translation for "yes" and "no".

I'm still not convinced there was a "guy" doing those translations at all. "No" as "Do not want" I get, but "Jedi Council" as "Presbyterian Church"?

Not really on topic, but the subtitles for Naked Killer show in both English and Mandarin on my copy of the film. Twice in the film, someone says 'scumbag' and in the Mandarin subtitle it says 'robert'. I can't find a screen shot, unfortunately.

Is this why a chinese girl won't shut up once I ask her a yes or no question?

The original Iron Monkey had some similar hilarity, before it had actual US versions.

To be honest, I've messed with the subtitle files on some Chinese movies I downloaded and then reuploaded.

Nothing starts an epic battle with the Mongolians better than "Okay who has to pee before we start?"

And for that single line, you make it to my favourites list. You are in good company, sir and/or madame.

I have got to try doing that!

I wonder how many people I can get to download the Dark Knight Rises with The Wizard of Oz's subtitles...
