yes but according to the GOP, once you've committed ANY crime it follows you forever and you can never ever never be forgiven. well...unless you've got more money than god. Money buys you forgiveness.

While that isn't a great story for Romney, I'm not sure I'd be digging around on donors too deeply, as I am going to wildly predict that Obama's list isn't a bunch of saints either.

Yeah... THAT'S the money we should be concerned about

Romney event hosted by convicted cocaine trafficker

I'll see your one campaign event and raise you the 40% of Bain Capital's initial outside funding - which came from Central American narcoterrorists looking to launder some cash.

oh I agree, it's not anything to get in a twist about....but it does hammer home the idea that the GOP doesn't care about what you've done to make your money...they only care that you've GOT more money than god. Money makes you moral, money forgives your crimes. Money makes you clean and fluffy and soft. Money can even make you white.

At least Tony Montoya understood that demand almost always has to come before supply.

Romney/Ryan would have us giving tax cuts to jenkem producers expecting that the drop in price would cause people to want to buy it.

Yes, I do recall them saying that one time.

Really it's not the GOP so much as their support for the prison industrial complex. Rich white folks have other ways of getting bribes to you, so they're exempt.

He served his time so it really shouldn't be an issue unless he is steal in the business, but if it was Obama we all know that every Republican would be screaming about this.

But more importantly this guy only got 3 years for conspiracy to distribute over a ton of cocaine. People around here get 10-20 for having a handful of crack.

Aye. I'll trust any coke dealer over the billionaires who have accidentally (or intentionally) done way more harm with their massive amounts of capital and stocks. "Oops, was I funding terrorists with millions of dollars of my money?" At least coke dealers are honest about it: "Yeah, sure, eventually this money will reach Colombian drug lords, but hell, I wish we could do this legally, anyway."

" I have this feeling that whoever is elected President, no matter what they promise on the campaign trail blah blah blah, when they win they go into this smoke filled room with the twelve capitalist scumfarks who got him in sat around a table. They sit the new president down, a projection screen lowers, and a big guy takes a drag on his cigar and says........ 'Roll the tape'. And it's a film of the Kennedy assasination from an angle never seen before.....that looks suspiciously like it's from the grassy knoll. Kennedy's head explodes. The screen goes up, the lights come on, and the big guy says to the President.........'Any questions?'" -- Bill Hicks

true
except that all of obama's donors are donating time amounts of dollars

because pacs and super pacs have no connection to the candidate, right??

Maybe the cocaine was just cover for missionary work. No one suspects a narcoterrorist of spreading missionary work.

1. Be white.
2. Be rich.
3. Be well-connected.
4. Don't get caught publicly, or by someone with an axe to grind - a DA gunning for re-election, don't get caught by the Fibbies in a hotel room with crack and hookers, "dead boy/live girl" scenarios...
5. Don't - FOR THE LOVE OF BABY JESUS IN A TUXEDO T-SHIRT - mix any of the coke with baking soda in a microwave. That'll turn 3 years for a ton of coke into 50,000 years for 1.5 tons of crack.

If your valence for #3 is sufficiently high, it can trump the others.

It's an issue because the Right won't shut the fark up about Obama and his admitted experimentation with drugs. What's good for the goose, and all that... On top of that, it wasn't some dude with a little baggie in his pocket, they seized more than a ton, definitely trafficking at that point.
