cool but lots of repeats.

Seems like he mostly had an idea of what he wanted to draw and either the drug had no serious deleterious effects (Adderall, for example) or he was mostly within his faculties by the time he finished the artwork.

Computer duster and PCP are the only ones which seem to have really farked him up with their effects. But even then, was he drawing what he had already preconceived or was it truly spontaneous?

His motor skills are excellent for someone seriously inebriated.

I haven't even heard of most of those drugs.

You have to be pretty dedicated to huff gas.

I've taken some of that stuff and could barely keep from drooling on myself let alone draw a self-portrait.

Although, how does one get access to that much stuff? I don't even know where to buy weed.

It seemed to me like the pictures were drawings someone who was sober would expect someone who was farked up to draw. So yeah I agree with you, I think he had the idea for the portraits in his head before he took the drug.

I don't know how he managed to do anything on seroquil. That stuff made me a zombie.

Same with klonapin(sp) and trazadone. Hard to paint when asleep for 14 hours. Should have tried Indomethacin, stuff is like cloud walking on baby frogs.

Yeah same with Abilify. Even though it is clearly not what is advertised, I like most of them.

Now if you gave a horse all those drugs and had it paint.....

2012-08-14 07:54:51 AM
Funny that the majority of those drugs are anti-psychotics. That is, they are supposed to make you less crazy (and generally make you less active and "dopey"). I would not take any anti-psychotics recreationally because of the risk of tardive dyskinesia and neuroleptic malignant syndrome.

One drawing shows people in line for meds at what appears to be a psych hospital and another has his medical ID bracelet and other shows him getting a breathing treatment and another has the DSM description of Schizotypal personality disorder. He may have had some sort of psych episode that required hospitalization and during that they tried "active medication management", cycling through various drugs/combos to try to get him in line.

That or he is just a nutball. His website reads like he is some "performance artist" that does weird things for shock value.

It's more pot... See my post above. G13 Marijuana is ... marijuana. Hash(ish) is .... marijuana, and marijuana resin is... yucky marijuana.

This guy didn't know his drugs. Honey Oil will blast your tolerance to pot through the roof doing it first is rather stupid, only experienced pot heads should hit honey oil, I know daily smokers that can't take it because it's so strong. Others LOVE the challenge. :)

I take Valium for neck problems. It knocks me out. No way I'd last long enough to draw anything.

seroquil was quite interesting. After about 7 days of a moderate dose I began to get audible hallucinations. After a while I really enjoyed the piano music and background bar noise that played in my head all day.
Only problem is I could only get about 20 feet from the couch before sleeping.

I've been thinking of trying abilify in combination with the effexor I have been on for a couple years.

Pretty stupid "artiste" kabuki if you value your brains; but he obviously has nothing left to lose on a number of levels.

When editing photos, I have some interesting editing results while using an Ambien/beer combo. I tend to use more saturated colors and smoothing filters.
Problem is, I can't duplicate it while sober.
Sometimes thats good though.

Don't knock cephalosporins, man. I mainlined some Rocephen last night, tripped balls for 7 hours. I went on a steptococcus killing spree!

Or he didn't take them to begin with. His "art" is more valuable with the fake story attached, so he has incentive to lie.

Seems like a predictable result.
thechive.files.wordpress.com

Honestly though a lot of the psych drugs he took only have an effect on your brain if you take them non-stop for several weeks.

2012-08-14 09:28:54 AM
Apparently PCP turns you into Ralph Steadman. Good to know! A surprisingly large number are absent, though most I suppose you really couldn't do anything while under the influences of (DMT, for example). I'd never include huffing because the crap is really, really bad for you. At least in very low doses meth won't do immediate damage if you can keep yourself from ever taking it again.

This guy fails at drugs. I would rather be kicked in the nuts than touch half of those substances (the anti-psychotics, the solvents, the Antibiotic(!?)... Meth/PCP are actually legit drugs btw, you only hear about extreme cases in the media).

Some of the pictures were alright.

I thought it was going to be weed, acid, mushrooms, alcohol, caffeine, and maybe hash or coke.

Although, Buspar is some bad juju. I gave some to my old roommate (telling him it would be fun) to get back at him for pilfering my good booze. That stuff made me want to crawl out of my own skin.
