How many countries will they later get divorced in?

*sigh*

Always a bridesmaid.

At least now I can add always suicidal and broke to my resume.

And I thought the people who have just one over-bloated wedding are attention whores.

35,000 People alone died today of Starvation.
4,900 People Died today of untreated HIV.

Millions more will die from preventable and easily treated diseases, regional warfare, and from having little to no education to improve their surroundings and lives.

But, no. Let's all celebrate the fact this couple pulled themselves up by their bootstraps, and blew tens of thousands of dollars in each instance to get married in x countries.

Great. While I think this is great for the local economies that they're spending their money in, WTF? Why all the focus on the wedding? What about the relationship?

Oh, is that what we're calling trust funds now?

Yes, they frittered away a lot of money, but consider that that money is now out there in the world circulating instead of sitting idly in their bank accounts.

In other words, we should be encouraging the very rich to be spending their money instead of hoarding it.

Every single person I know would've said to themselves "Hmmm, this is getting a bit crass and wasteful'...at the 2 wedding mark. Wasteful, decadent coonts.

Sure, once they get their Romney Tax cut they can do Europe and Asia and get the around-the-world thing right.

On the bright side, they are spreading the wealth. Not enough to make a difference, but it's better than just trading it amongst their rich friends.

This is delightful and it looks like they're having fun. Why all the hate? It's their money and their lives.
This should be on the main page.

22 weddings and not once did the bride kill her husband in the chest. Well done.

they aren't married. this is just a friendly themed road trip with benefits. if they do get married, and i doubt they will, i think their attitude and feelings toward each other will change more then typical newlyweds do. and probably not for the better.

Obama would have these two fine people actually ride this fictional van to locations. He's not happy about the socialism at home, he wants to spread it across the world. He would define a marriage ceremony as a one-time event.
These two young people are living the American dream, so great is their spirit that they have done it in England.

Obama would say they were born rich and are displaying a complete ignorance of the world and how it perceives them, but I'm here to ask you something:
Do you really want an America that punishes the offspring of the rich? Do you not think it was painful for them to leave their jobs and rely on trust funds?
The liberals would have you engage in this class warfare when we should be united-- united in cutting taxes for the people who create vans.

Romney will bring jobs back. We will create van parts here in America, but Romney can't do it alone. We must embrace innovation and eliminate the regulations that force these brave people to leave their jobs out of patriotism.

I thank you, Alex Pelling and Lisa Gant. You are truly worthy of dozens of wedding ceremonies around the world.

invictus2: Romney

Considering the fact that they're from Yorkshire, England, I bet they won't.

I guess I don't get it. I don't feel you need this type of extravagance to renew your vows and reaffirm your feelings about the one you love, especially so quickly in succession. The little day to day things seem more important than having multiple dog and pony shows.

Right now times are pretty tough and a lot of people feel their belts tightening. This kind of ostentatiousness rubs them the wrong way as they see their budgets shrinking while this couple is simply blowing through money as if it were nothing more than a bottomless cup of tokens at Chuck E Cheese's.

It's a far cry from the heady days of the late 90s when the economy was much better and this kind of thing was still within the grasp of many people. People didn't feel the jealousy quite so severely back then.

Hating on people that are enjoying life and doing something you can't or won't is so very healthy.

Somewhere, some individual can't afford the internet, or a computer. They're being rubbed the wrong way whenever you boot up and surf the web. Think of those poor individuals, do what is right, give up your computer and internet access - for they have none.

I agree. I have already given up my water and food. Death is imminent.

And can you imagine the level of bridezilla someone must be in order to come up with this idea?

On the other hand, I bet all 22 bachelor parties were pretty awesome.

Why would anyone want to put themselves through this. Planning one wedding is enough of a painful ordeal that why would you want to do it 21 more times?

2012-08-14 10:55:01 AM
I wonder how many times they've stood before some officiant in a foreign country, being insulted to their faces in a language they don't understand, while all the while they are thinking it's "omg romantic mystical blessings".

I know, I know...their choices, etc..but I cannot understand why anyone would think this was fun or purposeful, or romantic, or moving...I honestly can't come up with one pro that I can relate to. It's just so...useless to me. I can't wrap my head around it.

Only the first one was a wedding. The rest were themed fancy dress parties in exotic locations.

Yeah, I fail. They all were themed fancy dress parties in exotic locations.

What a couple of assholes. I hope they get divorced in a month, I'll write to them and congratulate them on being farking stupid.

Imagine a world where posters actually RTFA and commented on it rather than an impression they got from the headline. These people are living in a van.

So, according to the article, none of them are actual weddings, and all have taken place in the Americas. Not really "Couple Married Around The World: " I guess "Couple traveled around North and South America and had taken pictures dressed in wedding attire" isn't nearly as cool.
