Barely amusing? You are being charitable. Most 8th graders could do better.

Is this supposed to be funny or amusing in some way?

So, this is a list of every science article in the media, ever?

*reads TFA*

Wow. Not even close. That's the unfunny answer to Science Made Stupid.

[picayune.uclick.com image 600x189] & etc.

Thanks, Cyno. I love C&H.

*Reads article*

Dear god, that was painfully awful. Are you sure they were even trying to be funny?
Cyno's post demonstrated what the article could have been.
Now I need mind bleach.

Going for TFA prompted a "error establishing database connection"; came to the thread, read the C&H strips, see people biatching about TFA, figuring I'm coming out ahead.

Given the amount of 100% genuine scientific idiocy out there, why did this adolescent twunt try to make shiat up?

And, on the subject of egregiously unneeded attempts at humor, whatever possessed subby to call this stuff "brilliant"? I suppose if you survey your general surroundings and find you are the only person without a bike helmet and a drool cup you might consider yourself a clever fellow and your opinions worthy of attention, but this person has access to the web, so he must have been exposed to actual humor at some point.

I suspect we will soon find out his minders were chastised over this.

And one brilliantly inaccurate Fark headline

Two birds look similar to each other. Therefore, they must have evolved from primordial slime.

Cyno01's posting of images of seen dozens of times is several hundred times more interesting and funny than that lame-ass article.

Owls are not birds. Also, rhinos are actually big bugs.

There is no global warming, the scientists faked the data. And besides, it's a natural cycle that happens all the time.

Jesus Christ, the druggie I was hanging out with the other day had a funnier explanation of why a meth pipe will crack if you run it under cold water too soon after heating it up on the stove.

His answer had to do with water containing air and bubbles.

Fark TV was funnier than that article.

By the time I finished the C&H pieces, I'd forgotten about the original article. So I was startled to see people calling it unfunny. Then I looked back, and yes. Dumb. But revisiting C&H did a lot more good than the original article did bad.

Worse. Groupon emails are funnier. (Find another context where that sentence is true.)
