Figured subs would go for "crass-action" myself.
More to topic I've bought a glass set in the past that had a manufacturing error I assume much like this. The rim appeared to be smooth but there were really fine nicks in the glass that would cut lips pressed against them.

I still have those recalled Shrek 4 glasses that they recalled due to being painted with Cadmium. Too bad it's illegal to sell them, I wonder if there's a collector's market for those.
