It's NBC so it's destined for failure. I hope they at least take cues from 21.

I stopped watching Heroes after the first season. Does Hiro become a super villain later on?

Could potentially be good.

The My Little Pony Killer: I stopped watching Heroes after the first season. Does Hiro become a super villain later on?

No, but they did find an excuse for him to lose his powers every season once they realized that an unlimited ability to travel through time and space pretty much voids every plot line.

I would totally watch "Raven's Road Trip" every Thursday at 9:00 p.m.

Not sure if I'm understanding TFA, but he "temps" for super-villians? So if Joker has a case of food poisoning he steps into the outfit? And it's considered a drama? Maybe on AMC or FX, but NBC will probably add a lovable talking donkey who always saves the day.

The idea has a lot of promise but NBC is great at turning good things into poo

Only if it were on HBO or Showtime and had the cranked up levels of violence and nudity that we come to expect from premium cable.

One day I'll have to go back & finish the series, but I gave up when they introduced the carnies and the woman who could see sound.

He was a walking Deus Ex Machina.

I liked The Cape and it failed. I liked the Bionic Woman and it failed.

I gave up on Grimm because I thought it would fail, and the plot was generally unsustainable. Yet it succeeded and now I'm totally behind.

Fark you NBC.

/your olympic coverage sucked smelly nads, too

That whole Feudal Japan story line was hideous, especially him communicating by hiding notes in the sword hilt.

Me too.

If they could get the guys behind the Venture Bros involved this would be pure win. Oh well, I'll keep my fingers crossed that it turns out good anyway.

That's the last of the series, and even that was too long. They totally lost their way around the time that Peter's dad sucked him dry. That was just weird and awkward and creepy.

Yup. The series had the potential to be great but the writers just didn't think it through past the first season. Hiro and Ando were my favorites though. Loved when Ando finally got powers....I just wish they would have actually defined what they were instead of "bolts of red energy that sometimes hurt people and can supercharge people's powers...sort of...."

The Cape spinoff?

//Six seasons and a movie!

2012-08-13 05:28:52 PM
Following a henchman for multiple supervillains seems great as a comedy not as a "drama-thriller." Really? Unless they really go all out on the violence or make the main character like a Walter White, how is this plot sustainable? After a while, won't he/she just end up being better at their job than the supervillains?

There's an online comic strip, called Henchman for Hire that sounds like a similar premise. It is somewhat good, but updates more quarterly than 3 days a week as they claim. An easy google if you're curious. Probably 30 minutes to read all the strips to date.

I could see them doing this with Marvel characters.

Bring back the roommates, minus DP, and make it a comedy. Constrictor, Taskmaster and Diamondback all living in the same apartment. Everyone has to check their beds for scorpions and the cereal boxes for poison every morning.

Precisely. And as far as this supervillain-themed show is concerned, they should go for a tongue-in-cheek approach or it'll crash and burn like "The Cape".

I was iffy with the first few episodes of the first season, the lack of budget showed but I think they got a good group together and it started to click. Now that they've got a second season and more backing, it's getting interesting.

I do like how the big bad is kind of like Magneto to Rosen's Xavier. I could do less with the Nina chick.

^This. I see this flopping as the general public probably does not want to root for the bad guys. I however would very much enjoy this.

Just as long as it portrays people (especially teens) with god like powers who lament over being different and "freaks" compared to their non superpowered friends. Because if I suddenly had the power to teleport or move objects with my mind I'd feel like my world was crumbling and I was a monster. Hope it's chock full of angst

They need to stop wasting all their time, time.

Seriously, I believe the season will come back Feb 2013, although one of the episodes will premiere around Halloween as a special.

Meh. But then you realize after the fiftieth gang bang by the third episode that the plot sucks, the characters are unlikeable and you can just look at porn online without wasting your time.

Huge amounts of sex and violence are mostly used by writers when they can't think of anything else.
