Given enough of them, you can stop a bullet.

What exactly is the stupid tag for? From what i can see, no one FTA actually expected the screen door to stop bullets.

Yeah, really... Just seems that this dude was in the wrong place at the wrong time - then a stray bullet hit him.
What crappy luck.

That's the first thing that popped into my head. We need fume-shrooms to handle them.

Cincinnati looks down on its immediate southern neighbor Covington as Crime ridden....but no one was shot in Covington last night that I know of.....the last murder we had was a knifing in June....which was our first murder of the year....and it shocked the hell out of everyone....

Colerein township is supposed to be a nice suburb even.....

I don't hear a lot of that. In fact, if I wasn't locked into my current lifestyle I wouldn't mind living around Mainstrasse.

/Colerain Township is a sprawling, suburban shiathole.

You forgot "hotbed of Section 8 housing", which has thoroughly destroyed what used to be a relatively safe area in which to live. I know, I know - it's dangerous to make simple correlations like that, but the facts are that crime has increased far more than it should have out there, and it happened to coincide with a huge increase in Section 8 rentals. Probably safe to make at least a little tie-in of those two well documented facts into a correlation.

Stupid tag was used because of it's complete irrelevance to the story, yet it was used in the headline by the alleged journalist. And at least one modmin must have agreed.

/hooray for my greenlight!

Sadly I hear enough for both of us, sometimes it doesnt pay to be the last group of fellows who believe in a city......If we lose and leave there wont be much left but social services, pawn shops, poor people, and the politicians and city employees who feed on them.

CSB time, kinda.

My friend was a cop with the clear lake, ca police dept. mwhile responding to a domestic violence call he fired his Sig .40 at a man holding a shotgun on him from behind a screen door. The first round missed, struck the frame of the screen door, fragmented and a chunk of the round flew across the street and struck a neighbor in the leg. Not life threatening bit he did go to the hospital and did sue the PD. the second round found home though. My friend was not really the same after that. No longer a cop though. Gave that up to for other, "green" activities.

"Most of" Europe is located further north than the USA. Screen doors are most useful when you're without AC(due to tech or cost) in warmer areas where lots of air movement is desirable from a temperature/humidity standpoint, but there are also good amounts of undesirable bugs like mosquitoes/flies.

I don't have screen doors, for example. When I lived further south, I did.

Are you talking about Cincinnati or Colerain? Because Cincinnati is actually looking pretty good these days. My sister visted last month and showing her around I was kind of impressed.
