Romney did most of that himself, Obama just made sure people heard him.

Obama attacks and common sense successfully paint Romney as being unacceptable.

There ya go.

So wait, is McCain campaigning for Obama now? That's gotta hurt. First Caribou Barbie can't spew her word salad at the RNC, now McCain is asking Romney to tell him how his ass tastes. To quote Bananarama (and really, when isn't Bananarama acceptable in the Politics tab), "It's a cruel, cruel summer...."

I've got a new plan. Runner up in the general election must be executed.

I think the world would be better without McCain, Kerry, and Al Gore...

"And now it's probably deteriorated into the most negative, most unpleasant, most disgraceful campaign that I have ever observed, and I've been intimately involved in them since 1984."

The year or the book, John?

Careful there, George the Second declared war on the last person who tried to kill George the First.

this works for me, esp when you include the primaries. right?
so reagan would have been killed in 76 when he lost to ford and we would never have had the 8-12 years of reagan/bush

Romney is making a mistake by denying he is responsible for that lady dying. Obama is looking presidential by highlighting his record of killing Bin Laden and in a way also Ghadaffi. Romney may want to also showcase that he is capable of killing when he needs to.

2012-08-13 10:41:42 AM
Obama hasn't really attacked, he's just Romney talk.

To be fair, that's all he really has to do. Just keep replaying Romney's own words. Replaying his own words, his own policies, his own positions. Romney's biggest enemy is his own damn self...

I'll agree that the latest super-PAC ad that had the wife dying thanks to R'Money is over the top. I guess all's fair in love, war and politics.

Coco LaFemme: So wait, is McCain campaigning for Obama now?

He slams the attack ad AND IN THE SAME BREATH says it's working.

Yeah, it sure can look that way. Either he's doing it slickly and on purpose, or the Alzheimer's has set in.

I doubt it. He's just saying "Going negative works." Which is as much a truism in politics as anything. And it's definitely something the Republican party knows well, considering how often they engage in it themselves.

Romney painted himself as unacceptable, Ryan was merely the accent color of failure.

Fox news is playing this one up, heavily, to go with the story of Mitt as victim of negative campaigning.

That should work if people no ability to recollect the primaries. .

No, too many people in the primaries. Just one death will work. And the President has to do it on Inauguration day. I think it would be nice to have the President with some actual blood on his hands. I've always believed that you should never ask someone to do something you are not willing to do yourself. I think the troop would like to know that the Commander in Chief knows what it feels like

The attack ad that never aired in any market is incredibly unfair to Romney. I guess Obama should ask them to stop airing it.

When you had the following coming out of Bush's camp in 2000:

ChimpMitten: Hey, did anyone hear about how John McCain fathered an illegitimate black daughter?

Then yes, it's fair in politics; IOKIYAR; but when Democrats play the same game Republicans get butthurt about it.

Fark 'em and I could care less.

so hannity has added it to the rather long list of lies he spouts every show.

it's really fun to see hannity issue some asinine statement to his "Great American panel" and when they go off message he goes nuts. i have seen him interrupt a panelist to drag them back on topic. and heaven help them if they completely disagree.

Aint it a shame when what worked for the divisive, crybaby, pants-pissing party for so many years is turned against them and done so successfully. Fark you and your tears McCain and all you other sissyfied GOP'rs that would now cry about politics like this. You set the table, pussies, don't be scared when the smarter dogs get the lion's share, and feeds you scraps off the table.

It amazes me that people saw, and still see, the Dems as the party of soft, hand wringing nancies, when the GOP has made an art form of being able to dish it out, then crying when used against them.

I'm sorry, but I think swiftboating and the purple heart bandages are way, way worse then anything Obama has done thusfar. Those were insults to every man and women who's bleed for their country and gotten a purple heart, as well as all veterans who served when called in Vietnam.

McCain's been intimately involved in unpleasant disgraceful campaigns since 1984?

FTFA "I've got to give them credit, they have succeeded to a certain degree, of painting - with nothing but attack ads - Mitt Romney into something that's not an acceptable alternative, because he can't run on his record," McCain continued"

Ouch.

There's a rumor that Obama has too much blood on his hands. . .

1) Over the top, but not wrong... like....
2) the Romney "you didn't built it" taken-out-of-context ads
3) or the Ohio Early Voting lie ads
4) or the Welfare Reform lie ads.

In summation, CONCERN MOAR!

It doesn't even matter. All Obama has to say is, "Per the regulations created by the Citizens United ruling, I have no control over the messages Super PACs release. Now bend over, I'm the Super PACs are going in raw."

I say rub that ridiculous Supreme Court ruling in Romney's face until even Republicans agree that it's an insane way to allow campaign financing to work.

That really wasn't fair. John McCain is a caring, decent family man who I have fundamental differences in policy. Oh, and he is definitely not a a Viet Cong brainwashed Manchurian Candidate.

Romney is a traitor to the USA and of course that's unacceptable.

Buy American companies, put everybody out of work, cash in, put all the money overseas so you don't have to pay taxes and help America by paying back a little.

TRAITOR.

HOW MUCH DO YOU NEED BEFORE IT'S GREED, ROMULUS?

/trust me, you're waaaay past it

One, serious contender? I mean, I know he's a presidential candidate and all, but everybody knows that he lost. The guy has zero chance of being elected. Obama is black and RMoney/RAyn is a moronic combination. (Yes, I pulled the race card, because it's true.) This is just going to be a repeat of the 2004 election... in reverse.

Two, while Mormons are a few steps closer to the the Second Coming BS than Christians, the latter still has it in spades.
