I saw that in some of the original stories on Saturday, talking about how good looking he is. I'm not gay, so maybe I'm just not a good judge of what a good looking guy is, but "handsome" is one of the last words I'd use to describe his looks. He's not as hideous as some politicians, but hardly good looking.

Given that some people think that Sarah Palin was put on the ticket in '08 partially because her
MILFiness would appeal to the GOP base, maybe they want to broaded their appeal to the Log
Cabin Republicans this time.

For another view, a post from the King of Free Republic:

Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney

Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

"Well, look, the 'gender gap' will evaporate instantly now that Paul Ryan's on the ticket," declared Robert Stacy McCain. "Trust me on this -- chicks dig him.

Sure, he might be completely anti-abortion and healthcare for women, but he's so totally dreamy that all the women will vote for him.

/this is what Republicans actually think of women

I've always thought he was sucking a big wig GOP's cock somewhere to get the kind of attention he did with his sh*t for budget he pushed.

Now that they've done that, they return to denouncing the Democratic Party for the supposed hero worship of Obama that nobody actually does.

They tried that with Dan Quayle -- his big selling point was that he "looks like Robert Redford." (He didn't.) Unfortunately, in his case, it worked.

I find it really strange/odd/fascinating/pathetic that the GOP running mate has generated more buzz than the actual GOP candidate. 2 election cycles in a row.

Shouldn't this backward arrangement motivate a little introspection on the part of the GOP?

2012-08-13 07:26:06 AM
You know, there is a really telling difference between the two campaigns.

Romney's campaign announces his VP pick. the right's shills go mad about the guy, he is going to save the campaign, his ideas are this or that, is he radical is he too radical etc etc. Romney and his guys wave the man around like a sign saying 'look at this, stop talking about me'. The exact same shiat as Palin in 08.

Obama's campaign (last time, but the same would apply now) picked his VP. Everyone, like him or not, talked about whether he would be a good VP, whether he would be good backup for his senior partner, etc etc.

So what does this say? It says Romney is desperately trying to salvage something his own side dont really believe is worth saving, where Obama was (and is) running a campaign to actually be president in the belief that he is good enough.

Hey, at least they did it the other way around this time - they put the inarticulate one on the top of the ticket first. They're mixing it up, keeping it real.
