all obama has... which is sad.

All Obama has is a really weird political cartoon of him giving an... interview, I guess.... at a landfill? One that uses his campaign slogan from 4 years ago as a punchline and yet seems to have been written recently because it's copyright 2012 and mentions Paul Ryan?

Yeah... if all he's got is that... it's clearly more than the right wing cartoonists have, that's sad all around.

yep, Ryan has nothing... except this.

Ryan will win every debate he enters if his opponent's response isn't shown... what did Obama say in reply?

Ikam: FTFA - "My veins run with cheese, bratwurst, and a little Spotted Cow and some Millers," Ryan said, his voice cracking with emotion. "I even think ice fishing is interesting."

For an inhuman robot he has good taste in beer.

Miller? Really?"

jso2897: But the GOP may have finally pushed harder than the middle will tolerate.

This is the part that I don't get. Their "ideas" are clearly outright destructive to the better part of 250,000,000 Americans. I understand how they trick rubes into supporting them in the short-term with stupid crap about socialism and petty pandering about debt reduction and illegitimate comparisons between a household debt and running a government....

What I don't get is how they can be so incredibly myopic to not see that this is not a sustainable course. The fact is that the rubes will eventually wise up. At some point they're going to get hit with all the expenses that come along with "plans" like Romney's and Ryan's. Gut Medicare and millions will suddenly be paying tens of thousands of dollars a year they can't afford on medical care and medicine they literally need to survive. Privatize social security and millions will eventually wind up being unable to retire, or having to delay retirement for years beyond when they planned because they got pinned in a downturn. Keep cutting taxes so there's less and less money to run our society and eventually (more) bridges will collapse, roads will crumble, the courts will clog, police and fire will become unreliable...

Their plans are just not sustainable. Like you said, at some point there is going to be a backlash when people realize they've been had. It's like history just never happened with these people. I can't even begin to fathom how stubbornly republicans must refuse to acknowledge reality to think any of this is a) a good idea and b) going to end in anything other than catastrophe fro them.

And all the while they biatch about how the wealthy have to pay so much more as a percentage of income to sustain society while ignoring that the wealthy have been abusing their resources for decades to lobby for laws that gut middle class protections shrinking job security, opportunities and compensation... newsflash, dickheads. When only 10% of Americans are gaining wealth at even a modest rate, only 10% of Americans have anything to take more of. Maybe try instituting some policies to fatten the middle and trim the top before you biatch that we aren't taxing them more heavily?

Ryan is a second-rate mind, and personifies the expression "a stupid person's idea of what a smart person sounds like".
His "philosophy" is a hodgepodge of mind bites garnered from other second rate minds - like Ayn Rand and Ronald Reagan.
The last time the far right "pushed it too far", it was the 1950s, and the Birchers and McCarthyites.
The resulting recoil on the part of average Americans brought about the Sixties and all they brought with them.
I didn't think it was going to happen again, yet. I thought 2020, or maybe 2016 at the earliest. But the GOP may have finally pushed harder than the middle will tolerate. They've been utterly delusional lately.
