I read the article and if you think you that sounds like anything that goes on in a Mexican border town, you've not spent much time in a border town after 10pm.

If it would have said "Poe and a Mexican hooker were arrested whilst snorting uncut blow in a taxicab and cuffed until he gave the cops 100 bucks, then proceeded to hitchhike back to boystown and bang his hooker for free on the roof of the whore house whilst snorting even more blow and taking Rohypnols" then I would have recognized the type of fun they were having. But, simply going next door "and eating another patron's pie" doesnt. That sounds like a somewhere like New Zealand or something.

Nah, Bali or Thailand are Australia's Tijiuana/Spring break kind of places. Fiji is the 'safe' budget alternative location for families and the less adventurous.
They show up in NZ, it's just a few of them being the normal crude drunken shiatheads that they are, call it the 'Ugly Australian' problem. It only makes news here because it just doesn't go over well.

They haven't figured out Kiwi's aren't exactly begging for their tourism, nor will put up with thier bogan antics like the third world tourist traps will. Cantabrians are about the only people welcoming them nowadays, and only if they are currently helping to rebuild something at the moment.

GladGirl: Queenstown was one place I visited where you dont even need to be drunk to enjoy it: its just so gorgeous. Unlike, say, des moines, where it makes sense to run drunk and naked through the streets in order to get your thrills.

So essentially they created a party town for young people to get cheap booze and now they complain about some loutish behaviour? The tourist dollar keeps Queenstown alive so they can shut the fark up.

Damn right. Australian natives get drunk and pretty much just stay there playing the didgeridoo. Our natives get drunk and pretty much single handedly smash an entire Nazi army!

To be fair, only Aussies can really afford to get shiatfaced in Queenstown. Beer is too expensive there and we can drink so much. It's so sad because it's an awesome place that should be best enjoyed completely farked up.
