Not sure how well that'd work; I suspect I'd have to write the query in Portuguese to get hits on those sorta sites. I'll figure it out. Too funky not to find those tunes.

Gosling: Report I saw in the Washington Post suggests that they will be ready, but they will be ready in a very, very Russian way.

From what they showed, they'll be ready. And I know it'll be in a very Russian way.

Mrtraveler01: It's all a big ego boost for Putin and Russia

Actually just Putin. And wouldn't it be funny if he's not even in power in 18 months?

Ah yeah Squaw Valley. But at least in their defense, it was a ski resort. Sochi didn't even have that much. Nothing. Sure there was no bobsled at Squaw Valley, but then again they built the first atheltes' village and started that trend. Also back then winter olympics weren't the full fledged winter twin to the summer games. It does seem kinda odd now, but at the time wouldn't have been that odd even if it was surprising.

TheTurtle: WhyteRaven74: Local news is doing a story on Sochi, and apparently there wasn't even a supermarket in Sochi let alone any facilities, like ski runs on the local mountains, when it was given the winter Olympics. And they're spending $50 billion on it.

You wanna really laugh, go check out the story of Squaw Valley, California. It wasn't even a PLACE. It was (and is) a ski resort. It barely has a zip code to this day.

I like how they just said "man, building a bobsled run would be expensive. Let's skip it these games!"

When he came through the states recently, he sang ALL of Tommy at each show, plus extras.

Weirdest bonus bit? Ring of Fire.

I'm actually shocked bob costas wasn't giving us some irrelevant crap regarding the who or their songs while they were playing, and drowning them out with his surprisingly loud blandness.

So, a few minutes of the who's performance, we miss out on muse, Waterloo sunset, the whole section revolving around the Phoenix.... Anything else?

As I've said before, the marathon medal ceremony, and the part where they thanked the volunteers for their hard work.

And Kate Bush.

And the vast majority of the athlete entrances, including just about all the most heartwarming parts.

The Emili Sante performance (again!)
George Michael's second song (his new single)
The French parts of the speeches.
