SuperNinjaToad: I think Istanbul Constantinople stands a good chance as well since it will be the 1st Muslim country to ever host the Olympic games. There is however a risk to picking Turkey because while it is a stable country compared to the other Islamic country it's stll shaky compared to Spain or Japan.
finder_error: Watching an old man sing "Teenage Wasteland" and "My Generation" was heartbreakingly ironic. Don't get me wrong I love The Who, but seriously his generation is collecting social security and poor old Pete is deaf now. As for the rest, I didn't watch any of it. I just don't care about watching sports on television, and the superfluous nationalism makes me sick.
Mrtraveler01: Did anyone see this? I mean normally I take the Daily Fail with a grain of salt. But really?
geom_00: I have been TRYING to find Michael Buble singling Just Another Maple Leaf ever since.
bixpchiphead: A friendly note for those in the UK (and those with 'cough, cough' vpn or proxies),from The BBC:"And all our Olympics video content will be able to watch online on the BBC Sport website until January 13th."Link
DamnYankees: paj: Who did the voiceover for that Chevy commercial? Sounds really, really familiar.Tim Allen.
Gosling: I posted this toward the end of the live thread; since I don't care that My Blog Sucks, I'll provide it another time for the tape-delayed crew.London 2012: the denouement. A recap of the Games for those who've been asleep the past three weeks.Or at least, an Olympics recap done my way: with acknowledgement that countries other than the United States and medals other than gold exist.
Mrtraveler01: TommyymmoT: Mrtraveler01: Did anyone see this? I mean normally I take the Daily Fail with a grain of salt. But really?Holy crap.I had to do a double take too.He gets on BBC for using words like we when describing Team GB.Obviously they should do what we do and only show the sports that the US is good at and only show the US athletes for those events. That's NOT jingoistic.
