Would John Lennon want to be involved with the Olympics? I seriously have my doubts.

\also, QUEEN!

Earguy: Shuichi: Did Bob Costas sneakily mention all the sex in the Olympic Village?

14 condoms per athlete at the Olympic village. And I assume Gabby Douglas didn't use any, leaving more for others.

Is the 14 condom thing true? If so, then they anticipate, on average, 2 farkings per day per athlete?

I'm going to guess that a bunch of those condoms are being taken home for later use. If you placed eigth in air rifle, no one at the bar is going to believe you're an Olympic athlete but you can show off the condom as proof.

/And then be "that guy" who pulled out a condom at the bar

I love that they're paying tribute to Lennon.

they didn't edit it, little surprised, but happy

I kind of wish they'd gotten someone to cover the song.

The Arctic Monkeys nailed "Come Together." I'll bet they could have found someone to do justice to "imagine."

2012-08-12 09:05:53 PM
Imagine does fit with what Pierre de Coubertin was trying to achieve with the Olympics.

See? The GOP is right - Europe is communist.

Nope.

WhyteRaven74: paj: FYI the athlete walk-in took 20 minutes too long, they had to play a tape of already-performed songs in the stadium to cover.

who mentioned that?

The Telegraph's liveblog: "Inside source confirms that the atheletes were all meant to come on to the two elbow songs." Impossible to say if that is true at the moment, but would explain why we heard a tape of the music from 20 minutes previously."

2012-08-12 09:06:22 PM
The thing on my mind is where the Olympics go after Rio ...

Istanbul, Madrid or Tokyo.

2012-08-12 09:06:23 PM
It's a John Lennon jigsaw! nice.

2012-08-12 09:06:31 PM
That giant puzzle piece Lennon face is CREEPY.

The sculpture was pretty cool!

2012-08-12 09:06:52 PM
Well that's one song you would never hear at an American Olympics.

2012-08-12 09:06:57 PM
Cool John Lennon thing, but it reminded me of the photo of him dead, and made me sad.

Is Andrew Ridgely there?

I figured they were playing the songs so the athletes could hear what everyone else heard.

Hopefully they'll cut George's second song, it was his new single and wholly unnecessary.

Oh for godsakes Seacrest this isn't American Top 40. Just shut up and let's hear the damn music for once!

WhyteRaven74: FriarReb98: I have serious doubts about the veracity of what we see in the commercials for Stars Earn Stripes....
I want to see how they handle things when they use live ammo, you damn well know they'll have things set up so there can't be any "ooooops....." moments.

I want live ammo, live fire exercises, and a massive training accident involving lots of explosives so the show will be over in one episode since everyone got blown up. But not the actual US troops. Because they're doing something worth a damn.

2012-08-12 09:08:02 PM
So we watched this live on BBC streaming and it was about 3 hours 15 minutes. NBC is cutting almost an hour out, really? Looks like they've cut some really good stuff out already, am glad we got to see the whole thing. This is heavily edited.

We'd be arguing dick sizes in the open.

paj: Stars Earn Stripes = 30min Call of Duty commercial.

Can we have, like, a bracket to determine the worst new NBC show they've been hyping?

Play-in game
Revolution vs New Normal

Semifinals
Animal Practice vs Go On
[play-in winner] vs Guys with Kids

And we'd still blame Yoko. Though given what he did while he was alive, being an Asian born in Africa and achieving superstardom in Europe, Freddie would have totally end up here.

\I know his "image" was used during the ceremonies - saw it on the Facebook feed before....

*Irish guy who stole an identifier flag signifying the presence of a beer vendor
*Canadian human pyramids
*Several African nations dancing pretty gingerly, Ethiopia in particular

No matter what this guy does, people in England seem to embrace him. Good for him, you drug-addled, park-restroom-BJ-giving guy.

I watched about 18 hours of NBC coverage over the last two weeks. How did America do in the only two Olympic sports, diving and that one where those idiots leisurely jump their horses over shiat? I hope we did well.

A'murica!
