jocutus: The live feed on NBC's site earlier needed no announcers, just captions that identified acts as they came on stage. Couldn't NBC save some cash by doing the same and getting rid of these guys?

NBC's overlaying the small world-feed notes on who you're seeing with gigantic, third-of-the-screen-taking-up graphics. That's just gratuitous.

2012-08-12 08:38:31 PM
Honestly, for boy band pop, this isn't terrible.

2012-08-12 08:38:38 PM
One Direction...more like fark off in different directions so I never have to hear this song again.

2012-08-12 08:38:42 PM

Earguy: Now, now, let's not all just be ugly Americans, too cool for the room , just saying how much everything sucks. When something is cool, shout it out!

My tall glass of spiked iced tea is pretty cool.

I took my contacts out, yet I still nave no difficulty discerning the imagery!

2012-08-12 08:38:43 PM
That's some bad lip syncing

FriarReb98: Aaaaand muting the Simon Cowell Pedophile Experience.

They're all 18-20.

Linkster: /A certain British comedian also makes a musical appearance

Please say Benny Hill, Please say Benny Hill, Please say Benny Hill,

I must sadly report this is not the case, but is still quite commendable.

2012-08-12 08:38:54 PM
Someone please make it stop.

kevinatilusa: James72: Do they even pay attention to the lyrics of the songs they selected?

How many times have we heard "Born in the USA" in the last couple weeks?

It always makes my day when they play that song on the 4th of July as if it was a patriotic song.

2012-08-12 08:39:11 PM

Mrtraveler01: IMDWalrus: So that's who One Direction is.

The song isn't terrible.

It's on the radio all the damn time though.

I dont think I've listened to the radio in 10 years.

The Bestest: "Have you heard of 'One Direction'?"

I'm work in an elementary/middle school, so yes, I have unfortunately heard of One Direction. Of course, I can't be too hard on them. Every generation has its boy band and mine was NKOTB...

2012-08-12 08:39:23 PM
What's with all this cheesy pop? Are we gonna get Rick Astley next?

2012-08-12 08:39:42 PM
They aren't my idea of a great time, but given the whole 'inspire the youth' theme they've had for this games, I can get behind it.

2012-08-12 08:39:42 PM
OK. This is pretty cool. I wish I could have seen them on Broadway

2012-08-12 08:39:44 PM
If the Clash come out and do London Calling, I will shiat my pants.

2012-08-12 08:39:58 PM
What is this, a tribute to the bridge scene of Robin Hood Men in Tights?

2012-08-12 08:40:08 PM
Didn't affect me, but I am at a loss why NBC decided to show taped events on their television broadcast over the live closing ceremonies when it's being held on a Sunday afternoon.

/don't know who Jessie J is butt I am totally behind her

Stomp: because...uh...

Mrtraveler01: IMDWalrus: So that's who One Direction is.

The song isn't terrible.

It's on the radio all the damn time though.

The car I'm driving right now hasn't had a working radio for at least two years. Pair that with an office job, my iPod, and customized internet radio, and there's a lot of stuff I'm blissfully ignorant of.

China is not yet at the self-deprecating phase of their history. The USA is totally there either. The UK is.

Just because Toronto keeps losing every time it bids for the Olympics is no reason to be bitter.
