Careful, too much dust in the air is flammable.

Attention Chicago Tribune: neither Great White nor Slaughter are "heavy metal". Hair metal? Sure. Heavy metal? There's nothing heavy about either band.

FTA: "In the second grade, his teacher, Chris Nawrot, caught the young boy passing notes in class. She tried not to laugh when she read the message on a tiny slip of paper:

I'm starting a rock band. Do you want to join? Check Yes or No (with a space included for a parent's signature)."

My cousin set up a similar charity in Lexington, KY. It kills me what these kids can accomplish at an age where I was lucky to get my shirt on right side out.

Because Child's Play is the first and only children's charity. From the article:

"Maybe I can do something, just me and Dad."

Rock on, junior.

With the right kind of spark, the imagination of a child can burn very brightly indeed.

For the record, Ty Longley only joined Great White in 2000, well after the band's "heyday".. But kudos for the kid starting the charity.
/Saw GW at the Post Office (a club)in Augusta ,GA twice in the '90s,
a great venue. They still rocked then.

What the kid's doing is sweet. However, I seriously doubt that his father died "trying to help others" as his mother claims. By every account--and from the pictures and videos I remember seeing--that place went up like a rocket.
