the sad part is that recently the same chimp and her mate got out and the male was killed. she is probably grieving and going crazy from being a semi intelligent being kept in captivity. people really should stick to domesticated pets like dogs or lizard type pets that don't care much about captivity.

Who keeps a chimp (or any primate for that matter) as a pet? It won't sit in a blind with you on a cold morning and then leap into the water to fetch a duck for you. It won't make noise when a stranger comes to the front door. It won't go to a park and be cute so the chicks will come over to say hi. It won't even curl up in your lap and purr. Unless you need it for picking those lice out of your hair, what good is it?
