She actually is looking more feminine as she's aging. Poor girl.

You say that like it's bad thing, took a look at Joan Rivers lately?
Still, that's awfully insulting, I'm sure she wanted to win as bad as any of the other competitors.

You're right, bad sentence structure. I feel bad for her because of the scrutiny. However, she looks like she is growing into her femininity, which is good :)

I'm sure she'd appreciate your commentary on her appearance and level of stereotype conformity.

More likely she just eased off the steroids.

The issue of sex and sport is a giant gray area. People like her get caught in a no win situation and I really feel for them. There was an Indian girl who also did the 800 a couple years back get caught in the same trap after the Asian games. Her country was far less supportive.

The current standards/methods of testing are incredibly flawed and there really is no good known answer yet.

The girl is damned if she does, damned if she doesn't. If she wins, it's because she's 'really a man'; if she loses, it's because she 'threw the race'. I would not wish her life situation on anyone.

The way the Russian girl was running, Semenya would have needed another 100 meters, maybe more, to catch her. That lead she had was insane. Semenya ran a hell of a good race, ran smart, just didn't expect that the person in first would outpace the rest of the field the way she did.

Just wait for the shiatstorm that will happen if Brittney Griner ever goes onto the Olympic team. I suspect she never will because of the Semenya case.

I have to admit, the way it's reported is somewhat disturbing. It seems not unlike the prosthetic guy, the debate seems to be whether she has a genetic flaw sufficient so she wouldn't count as female, NOT whether she has a genetic flaw that gives her an advantage. They seem to believe she IS somewhat confusing genetically, but that they've declared her to be sufficiently female to pass their muster, but that they don't really want to define what sufficiently female means. I get the nagging feeling she's got an extra Y and they don't want to have the debate because they were really just making sure that's true and not that she was doping hormones.
