How does one play a keyboard 'like a cathedral'?

Methinks the moran meant 'pipe organ'.

Or your playing attracted the local meth head who thought you might have had more expensive musical gear in there as well.

Sounds more like a normal burglar.

An irritated neighbour would just have ruined it, to avoid having to leave the premise with a keyboard. Ruining it would also send a far better message.

I was wondering that too... does it mean he plays keyboard like he would play a cathedral, or does it mean that he plays keyboard the way a cathedral would play a keyboard? Either way, it's nonsense.

Now if you'll excuse me, I am off to play my guitar like an apartment building.

One of the witnesses described the driver as a "skinny white male" who looked "rough and was possibly missing teeth." The passenger was also described as a "skinny white male."

Yes, the meth-addicts block away got sick of your obnoxious playing and your shiny watch...shining obnoxiously with a golden light. I guess that covers both reasons that people should buy an IEM for electric instruments.

Many years ago I won a Roland synth keyboard from a local music store. My adolescent daughter began taking piano lessons and using the synth keyboard as her practice instrument at home with the sound set at 'piano' and played thru headphones. One day I had a bit of my rig set up and I plugged her into an old Peavey PA head and a couple moderate sized speakers. I switched the keyboard over to Mad Organ (or JP8 strings or JP8 Brass - whatever) and let her try Tocatta & Fugue in D.
As a musician myself, it was a wonderful thing to watch my own child have her first musical orgasm when the Voice of God issued forth from behind her.

It used to be that in Guitar Center, the kids would play Tocatta & Fugue in the keyboard section and Open tuned "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" or the intro to "Stairway" in the acoustic guitar room. I don't know what they're playing these days

I always wanted to do "Vincent Black Lightning"

After restoring and tuning pipe organs for a while, I got to the point where I wanted to slit all the regulators open every time I heard someone "play". Especially the boss, who thought he was in a baseball stadium every time we went out to tune.

/The organ jokes are still funny

My neighbor (or his kid) thinks he's a musician. I occasionally hear "Lesson 1" drum playing from across the field. Sadly, it sounds the same now as it did the first time I heard it last year. You'd think that, after a year of practice, he'd be able to keep a steady beat. This past weekend was a new twist. Acoustic guitar and vocals. I deliberately did not say "Acoustic guitar and singing" because that would be inaccurate. Even the dog was too stunned to howl along.

2012-08-11 07:28:39 PM
No one else? OK, I'll do it...

I've not always been mad, y'know, but um... I was actually driven mad by the indifference of architecture and council planners. Y'see I live in a tower block, and um, the thing about those is that there's terrible noise problems, because there's no noise insulation at all y'know, and 8 floors below you there's always some bastard who's got a Yamaha home organ, y'know. You're just about to go to sleep and you hear this doot-doot! chh-chh doot-doot! chh-chh chkdt BAH WA DAH BAH NAOW! doot-doot! chh-chh doot-doot! chh-chh! and like, the people who live upstairs from me, I can't understand what they're doing! Y'know I listen, and all I can hear is this weird noise and it goes voom voom, BLAT-NN BLAT-NN, voom voom, BLAT-NN BLAT-NN, and it sounds, right, it sounds like two elephants on a motorbike riding round and round, while a seal bangs a kipper on the table! I went upstairs to complain, and the door was answered by this elephant in a crash helmet! Standing behind him is this seal going "What is it now Ralph???"

Ha ha I have a Yamaha P-250. and interestingly, I bought it based on a recommendation by a Farker.

It does have a great cathedral pipe organ setting. And its heavy as fark, so the thief must have been pretty motivated.

Came here to say this - it's on the order of 70 lbs and it's bulky and conspicuous as hell. I always feel that's my number one deterrent with my gear. Oh, you want the Hammond? Good luck!

I passed on the P-250 and got an S90ES - easily one of my best all-around keyboards.

She nails it. Excellent.
