The humidity is unusual for SoCal. L.A. feels like Atlanta this last week. 90-100 temps, 80% humidity. I'm sitting here at Venice beach - awake at 1:39 am because it's 85 and so humid you can see haloes on the streetlights. I don't have AC (would use it maybe 20 days a year if i did), and I can't sleep in this fug.
It's actually a slow weekend at the beach - nobody feels like going anywhere, and the beach isn't much nicer than the basin - maybe 8-10 degrees cooler, but just as humid.

Warmer planet ---> more heat energy ---> stronger/more numerous hurricanes
