There's not as much smoking in movies as there used to be, so stupid teens have that going for them, which is nice.

Wouldn't exposure to anything influence teens? Not necessarily a positive or negative influence either.

don't worry, cigarettes costing around $10.00 a freakin' pack influences teens too. how the fark are kids supposed to have fun these days? i'm glad i'm almost dead.

Of course, no Farkers themselves were dumb impressionable teens. It's this damn generation raised by other parents and teachers and the governments and such. Also, Hollywood.

I smoke and make sure my fifteen-year-old son knows it's bad for you and a stupid habit. I don't think he'll pick it up himself, but he's not a dumbass like me.

Wrong-o (though it is an opinion)

1) A cig's cherry is very hot = dangerous.
2) Visible breath like a dragon.
3) Some smoker's voices are awesome.
4) It's the most socially
acceptable form of suicide.
5) Serves as an ad that the smoker is up for anything.

It'd be pointless to argue because we'll all have varying opinions anyhow, although from my experience making out with a woman who has alcohol/cigarettes on her breath is probably the grossest thing next to having her shart directly into your mouth.

When it comes to women who smoke, my interest in them drops substantially. As opposed to thinking "Hey, you look cool" I think to myself "Oh great, another tool hooked on a death stick addiction. Stand the hell far away from me, I don't want the stench of your habit on my clothes"

God almighty you sound like a flaming shiatbag.

They choose to do something you don't like. Calling them 'death sticks' is purile. I hang out with smokers all the time, and never smell like it, as long as I don't stand next to the thing. But everyone I know smokes exclusively outside.

/never smoked

I don't know. It's possible that some kids try it because it looks cool, I did, but everyone smoked 20 years ago.

In modern times? Not so much, because smoking in media is relatively rare.

I stuck with it though because I liked it, the feel of it, the effects of it. I've also always had a digital fixation(as in I'm always fiddling with something with my fingers(to include myself, but more generally, worry beads, pens, bottlecaps, little mechanical doo-dads, magnets, zip-ties, anything at hand really).

I still enjoy all of the aspects of it. I simply don't want to quit yet, and you have go genuinely want to stop to succeed.

Some people can't stand it, some love it. Those that have to get smug about not liking it, however, are, as put above, flaming shiatbags, they piss me off.

If I was in a spot first, move off and find your own. If you were there first, well, I don't do that unless it's a place where the expectation should be known to you.(IE the smoking deck at a bar, or a bar where you can still smoke[an establishment like that's main purpose is to consume a plethora of things that are bad for you and be as loud and merry or offensive as you can get away with]), or my house. I always respectfully keep my distance, even when not smoking.

I know a lot of people who like to invade one's personal space and then biatch about the smell, or get all passive aggressive and make faces and stare at the ciggy as if it's a personal insult. Dude, back the fark off of me, I don't need to feel your breath while you talk, get out of my bubble!

Power of suggestion is powerful.

That's just it. I know nicotine is an addictive substance, but I have quit for months at a time, and everytime I do, I start again. I just like to do it. I enjoy smoking. I used to smoke in my car on the way to work, but I don't anymore. It's not the habit of it all, it's something I enjoy doing.

Anti-smokers can suck a fark. Seriously. Anytime someone biatches about how my cigarette smoke is messing up their lungs, those same motherfarkers better never drive a car.

2nd hand smoke is a myth.

I never smoked as a teen because every older smoker I knew mentioned they wanted to quit. So I had an epiphany: "Hmmm, I bet if I never start I won't have this problem."

As a cancer pharmacist, I'm relying on smokers to put my future kids through college in a few decades. If anyone needs an additional reason to quit, take a look at the prices of etoposide, cisplatin, doxorubicin, and some of the other drugs we use to treat lung cancer.
