Geez. This Douche is absolutely shameleless. He is on TV now and just had the nerve to bring up the whole ugly thing about our credit rating going down. Like it had nothing to do with obstructionist Republicans and their shenanigans.

I can't wait to see O and Joe rip him a new one over that.

What Obama actually meant to say was he had visited 57 counties at the time.

Jerseysteve22: As a historian this is all very fascinating. I would love to see how this all plays out over the next several decades and how it will be remembered in 100-200 years.

I'm sure in retrospect the hero will be GW Bush.

Is he actually blaming Obama for that mess? Well I guess the GOP campaign will be nothing but revisionist history and out of context quotes.

I wasn't bi-curious before, but now that I've gotten a look at that gorgeous hunk that Mitt has snapped up, I gotta admit, I'm getting a little tingly in the boy-bits.

When I see the health care debate in the US (Medicare specifically), I feel like all other industrialized countries have indoor plumbing and the US is debating where they should tear down their outhouses and have people shiat in the bushes instead.

But what about Romney's international trip a couple of weeks ago? And his time in Paris back in '68?

Yes, he actually implied Obama was to blame. Apparently they think we all just fell off the turnip truck and then our memories were promptly erased.

Still don't get why this was leaked late Fri night and announced on Saturday. That's usually the kind of thing politicians do with bad news. I smell desperation from the Romney campaign.

Wrong

1) Romney spent the Vietnam war in France
2) he recently embarrassed himself and offended people on a 3 country tour
3) he has had several undocumented foreigners working for him

To be far, much of Romney's money is in other countries and I'm sure he owns property all over the world.

Ryan, on the other hand, is the suburban guy who's never even had a passport and doesn't like Chinese food because it's "too spicy."

So self-styled politics-outsider Romney, who prides himself on his business career (even though he doesn't want us to know anything about it), picked a running mate who's been in Congress since he was in his 20's?

Seriously?

Romney doesn't know how to act in a supermarket, let alone in a foreign country. Now he's picked a guy with even less of a clue to be his running mate.

Romney announces VP choice and instantly regrets it. To be fair, there were no good choices.

Dunno. You're asking the wrong guy. To me, the entire Mitt Romney candidacy -- hell, the entire Republican primaries and 2012 election season -- seems to me to be a way for the RNC to rid itself of a bunch of losers by "giving them their shot" when the real people in charge know they have no chance to win this year. Adding Ryan to the mix just seems to support that narrative. Republicans out there should be embarrassed by this candidacy, even worse than last time around. The party has gone off the rails.

2012-08-11 06:06:01 PM
Has it been determined if Ryan has to give up his Congressional re-election bid by running for VP?

If so, he probably made a big mistake. Does anyone remember who Dole's running mate was in 1996? (No cheating and looking on Wiki.)
