One thing I have to wonder. About 30 minutes after this slip was made, I flipped by Fox News to see their take on the pick. They showed the introduction video with Romney saying "the next Vice President". Now did the Romney team reshoot the video or was Fox News nice enough to edit it for them?

Wait until they decide (again) that the reason they lost in 1012 was because they ran a couple of RINOs who didn't extreme enough.

They didn't have elections back then. The winner was based on watery bints handing out swords.

President Romney and then

Serious question:

Do you write moronic shiat like that because you really believe it...or do you write moronic shiat like that because you want others to believe it, because you want to influence the narrative.

Please be honest. I'm genuinely interested.

This was one of my first thoughts too - Ryan is kind of toxic down there with the Medicare bull.

It truly is the worst campaign in my lifetime. He writes off Florida, and does nothing to flip Ohio, which is the other state he has to get to win. It's like the people who are really calling the shots have decided they don't want him to win.

It wouldn't surprise me if they did that. I'd love to see a video of it. Not that Fox News has any trouble proving their bias, it would be nice to have another crystal clear example of them doctoring footage.

I said this in the other thread, but basically, voters are selfish. A long as they can convince current seniors that their benefits won't be cut, those voters won't give a fark about generations coming after.

I love how this is being posited as a "bold roll of the dice choice" by the media (Nate Silver excepted) as opposed to a a tacit admission that even before halftime, Romney knows he's getting his ass kicked so it's time for a hail mary

Leave it to Willard Romney, international man of principle, to get himself bullied into being bold and independent.

Make no mistake. In his decision to make Paul Ryan, the zombie-eyed granny-starver from Wisconsin, his running mate, Romney finally surrendered the tattered remnants of his soul not only to the extreme base of his party, but also to extremist economic policies, and to an extremist view of the country he seeks to lead. This is unimaginable to those of us who lived here under Romney's barely perceptible stewardship of the Commonwealth (God save it!). If he'd even hinted that he agreed with a fraction of a smidgen of a portion of the policies on which Ryan has built his career, Romney would have been hanging from the Sacred Cod by the middle of 2005. And it's hard not to notice that the way the decision got leaked - in the dead of a Friday night, with the Olympics still going on, after two weeks in which Romney and his campaign had demonstrated all the political skills of a handball - fairly dripped with flopsweat.

(And how'd you like to be poor Tim Pawlenty, being told by Tagg Romney that he'll be riding in the roof carrier to Iowa again, with nothing in his future except, maybe, a couple of bucks at Christmas.)

Yeah, it seems like it. The Fox News clip is from a slightly different part of the speech than the "next president" part. Worked out great for Fox News. They get to show Romney introducing Ryan all they want, but don't have to remind anybody about the gaffe if they don't feel like it.

Nowcast doesnt really mean anything. Not sure why he posts it.

Right now Romney is talking about how after Paul Ryan's dad died, his family got together and taught him the meaning of hard work which enabled him to succeed. No mention that Ryan got social security benefits because his dad died which paid for his college.
