Sounds like Romney is planning a Palin, quitting when the job gets uncomfortable.

Mheh, Obama did the same thing.

Yeah, this is not a big deal. And Romney fixed it with good cheer.

Maybe Obama figured he'd be assassinated as soon as he was elected, so Biden would be the next President. I sort of expected that too.

Exactly.

I think the GOP puppetmasters convinced Ryan to agree to this to put him in position to run in 2016. Paired with a true moderate, he might even have a chance.

Unless Hillary runs.

That's it. We can't elect a candidate that misspeaks from 57 states.

The GOP party has managed to find candidates this time around that are even more repulsive to me than the thought of Obama in office now or for a second term.
Nice options when there is the 2% of votes or less candidate or not voting at all.

2012-08-11 03:28:10 PM
He means in 2016, presumably.

The leadership now for the modern conservative movement for the next 20 years will be coming out of the House and the Senate.

What's a better reference here, Stepford President or Mittchurian Candidate?

What would happen if Romney died of a heart attack before the election but after the convention?

Would Ryan then be the GOP presidential candidate? Or does it go to the runner-up in the primaries?

/just wondering

Well, if he plays his cards right, we'll see what happens in 2016. Maybe he will be the next president after Obama finishes his second term. The Democrats might decide to not field an opponent.

Obviously, Rocky and Bullwinkle. "fearless leader".

Do these things always seem so contrived and theatrical? The settings, the music and all? It's like Nuremberg minus a lot of red and black.

President Romney and then
PRESIDENT RYAN. You marxists had your chance. Maybe he can go back to his job as a "lecturer" on con law.

Well, since Ryan is probably dead from a heart attack in 2023 you're a little over optimistic. The male line in his family pops off in their early 50's.

/Hey, my grandfathers made it to 90.
//My greats died in industrial accidents.

Since it's happened before, maybe it can become a tradition, like 'break a leg' and dressing boys in girls' clothing?

I think this is just further proof that 2012 is a placeholder year for the Republicans. They clearly have no intention of winning the White House. And by going ever further to the right, I think they're endangering a few of their House and Senate seats.

This was one of my first thoughts too - Ryan is kind of toxic down there with the Medicare bull.

Why is the Romney campaign intent on making the McCain campaign look like a masterpiece of modern politics?

Watching this is much more fun than I expected.

True, but when you've earned a reputation for saying stupid shiat, every time you say something stupid people are going to point it out.
