Why would that band name themselves after Tesla's album? That's weird.

But I guess that Japanese group named themselves after Extreme's album, so it's not completely unheard of.

So a band from 1971 came to the future to steal the name of an album used by a band that covered this song in 1990, a song they originally recorded in 1971? I think we have just divided by zero.

there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, as long as you take all of the signs and put them somewhere else. specifically in the yard of one targeted person, either a friend or an enemy. not much difference when it comes to campaign signs, i guess. also, real estate signs. and 57 is weak. if i n tha gang were going to sign someone's yard, 100 would be a minimum, and 200+ would be more like it.

Signs in people's yards? Bush league. Call me when you've stolen 200+ 36'' orange road cones, set them in someone's yard and driveway, and read about the "grand theft investigation" that the highway dept is currently undertaking, the next morning in the paper.

Rich Cream: FC Exile: Not in Va. You would still be charged with theft.

It can't possibly be legal to use government property (on-ramps etc) for electioneering so the signs have to be treated as a violation of law and should be removed. The people named on the signs should be fined too, but this isn't the bizarro world.

There are other possible charges, like parking illegally or whatever, but theft? No. It's like stealing garbage.

Of course it can be legal. Public land is not government property as you seem to think it is.

If something isn't explicitly illegal, it is implicitly legal. And the government would have a very difficult time trying to ban political activity if it wasn't unsafe in a very defined manner.

And ignoring that for a moment, you have to understand that these signs are still the property of those who placed them and therefore (in most jurisdictions). So taking a sign from public property is theft unless you are working on behalf of the government to remove abandoned or illegal signs. Many jurisdictions have laws regarding the disposition of abandoned property.

He will be vindicated.

As a followup to my response above:

The signs are private property until proven otherwise according to the local laws.

Imagine if instead of signs on public land it was a car. The car may not be prohibited from parking there, but even if it is that doesn't mean that you can come by and take the 'litter car. Even the government can't touch it if there isn't a specific lay saying they can. And even then the government can only hold it for the owner unless the law permits them to dispose of it. (Ie most jurisdictions prohibit the disposal of property for multiple days at least)

1) bee gees 2) John Denver.....

um.. sure. whatever you say.

so does that mean I can sue Dan Folglberg for not getting a BJ until me mid thirties?

Your question is nonsensical upon review.

Who's BJ, his?

You lost.

Rich Cream: I know this story. He took all the signs that weren't on private property. All the other signs you see, on highways, fringe areas of municipal properties, empty lots, medians etc. are all illegal and technically litter.

He will be vindicated.

I remember this coming up a few years ago. Still all the damn signs.

Everyone is bickering about who wrote the song. Where is the hero tag?

I've always found it impossible to dislike John Denver.

Then he went and testified against censorship before congress, when they expected him to do the exact opposite, and I just loved him from then on.

I totally agree with the guy that did this.. where i live you drive down 24 mile road, and this douche name Stathakis has GIANT signs every 20 feet and im not exagerating.. the signs are like 4'x5' and just non stop for 2 miles... They have convinced me to vote for ANYONE but him... And its not just his shiat.. other than him we then have the smaller signs all around his big ass signs like orbiting moons.. its rediculous and shouldn't be allowed...

kim jong-un: Rich Cream: I know this story. He took all the signs that weren't on private property. All the other signs you see, on highways, fringe areas of municipal properties, empty lots, medians etc. are all illegal and technically litter.

So what you're saying is: I can make a half dozen signs that say something like "I'm great, you're not" and stick them in the ground along roadways and "public" property. And no one can touch them? And if they do, I can press charges?

Sweet.

/the only time signs are allowed is when permission is given and no one has the right to give permission to use public lands for the the erection of signage.

Hey, that was one of my favorites when it first came out... the year I graduated from Hi School!

Stay off my lawn.
