that's because you don't have a winner's attitude.

/ joking... but maybe I'm on to something. to be a great competitor, you have to be a little delusional. a normal person thinks... hmm, that's going to hurt, or that guy's better than me. but a delusional person thinks he's the best, even when the facts suggest otherwise. and that delusion, what some people call confidence, is a big difference between an amateur and a professional.

South Alabama is offically 1-A this season, so he's going to have to find another 1-AA school like SE Louisiana.

LSU at least seems to give the impression that they're pretty good about this.

They kicked that Perriloux guy off the team a few years ago, which is why they were stuck with Jordan Jefferson for so long.

You can't go from one NCAA D-1 school in the "Football Bowl Subdivision", or what we used to call "Div. 1-A" to another one without sitting out a year (unless the NCAA grants a waiver, such as in the case of Penn State players), but a student can go from a FBS school to a "Playoff Subdivision" (what we used to call D-1 AA) without waiting a year.

LSU under les miles will kick a dumbass to the curb for being a dumbass. They dumped their starting quarterback about this time last year for brawling in a bar parking lot even though the kid who did start (and took em to BCSCG) looked more like a deer in headlights at that time.

Yup, I know that NFL suspensions are honoured in the CFL. NCAA? No idea, but yes for someone that is inexperienced like that unless he's a phenomenal athlete is going to get killed.

/Also assuming he has no criminal record that keeps him out of Canada and can pass the tests that the CFL has as well.

I hate how the NCAA is set up. Players risk significant permanent injury so other people can make millions. They get room and board and a scholarship but I'm pretty sure most of the guys that go pro would rather take 200-500k a year to play in a minor league.

For the thousands that have no real shot at going pro the free scholarship is a great deal. But for the ghetto kids that dont really care about a degree in communications its kind of stupid to force them to try and earn one while following a bunch of arbitrary rules or lose their one shot at a great life.

According to the Article, and people who know more than me, if the violations were for drug tests, then he won't be able to play football at any NCAA school for a year. He will have to go to NAIA or Junior College

NFL refuses to take players that haven't been out of high school for at least 3 years. That's Maurice Clarett, who unsuccessfully sued the NFL to enter the draft early after he was suspended and kicked out of OSU before his junior year. I think he actually made it to the NFL briefly before being convicted of robbery and going to prison.

That is the waste of a Denver Broncos third round pick, Maurice Clarett. I heard from a Bronco that he looked really good running the ball in camp but he refused to take part in special teams drills which all rookies except QBs are expected to do. So now he plays for peanuts for the Omaha Nightengales.

That would make sense but is incorrect. They did a report this summer about how each SEC school had wildly different drug testing policies. There were a couple that had 3 failures before a suspension.

I'm sure he'll be punished in some way.

Remember, if you transfer INTO the SEC, you can have any suspensions waived by the NCAA (even for repeat-offenders, drug possession, and the like).

This is correct. The schools test because a positive NCAA test is an automatic one-year ban. They test less often but the tests are random so you never know when you're going to get popped.
