For some reason I read all of that in Marvin the Martian's voice. Before reading the forums.

I understand that most journalists now are glorified bloggers but what the hell happened to the concept of a professional headshot.
I'd take you far more seriously if you had a good headshot, rather than the happyface of a man who just found out about AOL chatrooms

Astrophysical Journal reports that a team of scientists are working on destroying the world - not once, but repeatedly. Fortunately, the world they're destroying exists only in a computer simulation

Oh thank goodness. They had me for there a moment. Whew.

Speak for yourself. My world was already destroyed when Whitney Houston died.

Interesting, but the trick is to do it on a shoestring with just stuff that you can buy at Home Depot. And you don't really need to destroy the physical planet itself for now to win the prize, just exterminate the top mammals of the food chain, or render them all impotent within three generations. Hard to kill the whole globe with just a credit card and a dream, nonetheless, if it can be done in the name of Science, it's worth it, So here goes...

Wrong approach. Don't address the top mammals directly - go for their food supply (or encourage their enemies). Slugs can help in both respects.

Yeah, well, we'll see who destroys the earth first. Ready? Go! (cue montage of mad scientists in a race to kill humanity).

Does it fall under Godwin's Law if the thread is discussing the simulated destruction of a planet and then somebody brings up the Death Star?
