At least the Bond people learned their lesson about having a completely non-threatening villain in QOS.

Having Anton Chigurh in Bond would be awesome - like Jaws!

Exceptional idea.

No, friendo. I expect you to die.

I don't care what folks say - this looks awesome

at least in a "suspend belief, action thriller" kinda way

I went GIS'ing for whatever Fred Armisen SNL costume the Bond poster reminded me of, but instead found that HuffPo had already covered that last week.

Maybe I'm the only one - but he reminded me more of a blonde Shahrukh Khan than a blonde Javier Bardem....

I think you're right. Though I have always thought the two of them look similar.

Skyfall? More like Skyfail, amirite?

/Haven't watched a Bond film since whatever the last one with Brosnan.

That would be Die Another Day, which sucked. But Brosnan was a great Bond. The new ones are basically Bourne movies with the Poker Channel mixed in.

The old man that Anton menaces in the country gas station in NCFOM was on "Louie" last night as a pharmacist.

No point, really. Just sayin'.

If ONLY they had watched some tournament poker before making Casino Royale. Seems no one told them you don't automatically win the tournament by going all in. Especially if you have less money than another player.

Which still makes them better than most of the other Bond movies.

I like Bardem, and I'm looking forward to this movie, but 1) He looks absolutely terrible on that poster, and 2) Bardem already did the Big Bad thing, so I'm skeptical he's gonna bring much to this we haven't already seen.

The creepy part is not the absence or presence of Botox. It's the fact that the face does not match the hair and the whole head looks almost like it's been photoshopped onto a picture of someone else wearing that stale and dated outfit.

Listen, Sick Boy, I've had enough of you chugging the cock of Sean Connery with your soliloquies and your shooting up smack, ok?

The very fact that it was "Texas Hold 'em" played in a casino in northern France instead of Baccarat was lame enough. But a third of the movie had to be a play by play narration of every hand.

Eva Green was hot though.

Malkovich would actually make a pretty good M. I love Judi Dench but Malkovich's creepiness could bring something new to the role.

I actually think Ricky Gervais would make a great M, he has the potential for comedic evil.

Bardem looks like a Blofield in that pick, which is awesome.

I like the new Bond, he fits the books.

Stop trying?

We have a saying at work. You join the village idiot club if you keep doing the same thing over and over expecting different results.

Yeah, I am in it. So what? At least it is only the second time then I stop.

As soon as Remington Steele was shown, people were saying he should be Bond.

If they'd done without the gut wrenching theme song, Madonna's cameo, the invisible car and the rocket car sky surfing scene, that movie becomes much better. Don't forget the idea of Bond being captured and tortured for a year or so was conceived as a rather bold move to add some grit to the series. Hell, he's supposed to miss 9/11 and the aftermath while he's in the hole, hence M's comment about the world changing since he was gone.

So did Dalton, and he doesn't get enough credit for that.

Yeah that was actually pretty cool.

And yes, Craig and Dalton were closest to the Bond novels. And in the novel of Jaws, the shark gets tired and drowns instead of getting blown the fark up. The written word and the big screen are different media. I prefer my Bond to look like he's having fun whilst bedding women, chugging vodka martinis and killing bad guys while wearing a tux.

As time goes by and more movies get made, I tend to buy into the 'fan theroy' more and more that James Bond 007 is the code name(at least in the movies, not talking about the books). That there has been a bunch of dudes that have been promoted to 00 status and they're given the full handle. James Bond is a code name along with 007, Sean Connery could have been Biff Logan before being assigned. That explains why each version of Bond is different, aside from different actor interpolations.
But so far, I prefer Brosnan the most-just wish he had better material to work with.

That's the way I see it. But then I didn't think the first 3 Brosnan movies were by any means bad. Yes, there was a nuclear scientist played by Denise Richards. But we're talking about a movie series with characters named Pussy Galore and Dr. Goodhead. And the Brosnan movies were the first ones to have creative opening title sequences. And there's probably some '90s nostalgia in there since I miss the '90s.
