FirstNationalBastard: MoronLessOff: Came for Thrakazog. The tissue sample clone Tick really grossed me out, especially how the Tick dispatched him. I almost hurked when I saw it.

On a side note, I never saw the live action series. Was it as good as the cartoon?

It was good as long as you don't go into watching the show thinking it's going to be the cartoon.

This. It never goes quite as over the top and you have to just ignore what gripped them to rename Die Fleudermaus as 'Batmanuel'.

/Oddly enough tho, that guy did end up in the Nolan Batman movies. He's the mayor.

Y'know what else is funny? It's been running through my head apropos of nothing for two weeks straight and now that it's actually appropriate, I don't feel like yelling "I AM FILLED WITH TINIER MEN".

/Except for that. Obviously.

Saban owning the rights to Die Fledermaus and American Maid. IIRC, the only characters that crossed over were the ones that Edlund created for the comics. But cartoon creations stayed with the cartoon.

I'm sure Sony would have loved to use the already established names, but rights are a biatch.

You know, evil comes in many forms, be it a man-eating cow or Joseph Stalin. But you can't let the package hide the pudding. Evil is just plain bad. You don't cotton to it. You gotta smack it on the nose with the rolled up newspaper of goodness. Bad dog! Bad dog!

How could they not give a shoutout to Candlejack? Yeah, he's technically not The Tick, but he deserves a ment

Well Arthur, comfort, commitment, marriage... what do these words all have in common? The letter 'C.' Well, except marriage, of course. And if people get all British when they get knocked over the head, what do British people get? I've got it! Comatose.... another 'C.'

The Ottoman Empire was one of the damn funniest things I've seen in a cartoon.

I liked the one where the Tick and Arthur go into the sewer with the Urchin. While he's rainman topside, he's a complete badass in his natural environment.

Came here to say this.

I couldn't agree with you more. My episode was the best. I should have won the Oscar. I plan to get even with the Academy with my clone army. And don't call me Susan... It's so juvenile.

steamingpile: I had a few old friends who came over a few years ago while we were watching them and doing what people do on weekends to decompress. They sat there stone faced and asked why we were watching kids shows.

I no longer speak to those people.

I'm sure they're really broken up about that.

That would be amazing to have! The apotheosis of cool would be a show wherein Townsend Coleman, H. John Benjamin, and George Lowe just sit in a room with a microphone and talk. It would be kind of a 3-headed Mount Rushmore of Voice Acting...for your ears.

/I still find myself saying, "Monkey out of nowhere!" whenever something surprises me.

2012-08-10 11:02:47 PM
What about the Dinosaur Neil episode... with the giant pants that were supposed to calm him down from his rampage... which got stuck by lightning and caught on fire... "LIAR, LIAR!!!! Pants on FIRE!!!!"

That's funny, because every so often, I'll get the urge to shout, "It's OK to play with dolls!"

And then they all look at me funny in the supermarket.

"Feed those kitties!"

"He has a pig for a leg!"

"we can't lose, we got Joe Stalin!"

"Sun worshipping dog launchers(which is somebody's name around here...nice) you face....the Tick!"

Not to mention the talking dolphin that sounded like Kirk Douglas.
Such a great show.
