What exactly was this employee's goal? Is this guy trying to be Mall Ninja's idiot side kick?

Like, I am all for the occasional vigilante justice, but come on man...you are paid like, what, $11 an hour? You are going to potentially murder, I mean, MURDER, KILL, SEVERELY INJURE for life, some idiot teenager over a few stolen items from a faceless corporation that honestly does not give two shiats about you?

What were the heroic accolades this guy thinks he was going to gain from this?

Yeah, little shiat bag, sticky fingers, thieving teen needs to face his crimes. But what the hell man?

Ya got yer greeters and ya got yer run 'em down in the streeters. Yep. That's Walmart.

Uh kid didn't steal anything, sure he may have had intent but then he did the right thing and put them back. This doesn't make him a shoplifter or a thief.

Slight reading fail on my part - I for some reason thought he put the items in the back of the store (like, behind the building, outside).

Either way, even if you are intending to steal, then do not, cant you still be charged with intent?

Doesn't make him a "customer" either, which is how the article described him.

Anyway, call a lawyer, kid. A good one. Sue.

As written in the Constitution, If you are killed during the commission of a crime, regardless of said crime's severity, those involved cannot be held accountable for your death. You want to steal from Wal-Mart? Fine, but don't get upset when I put a bullet through the back of your skull, execution style. Live like a thug, die like a thug.

If you are going to steal, then be creative about it. For example, I've got a bunch of old VGA graphics cards that are worth about five cents a piece. Every few weeks, I go to Wal-Mart, buy one of the "top-shelf" cards for $500 and take it out to the parking lot. I swap the cards and then return it for a full refund. Then I sell the newest card at half price to a repair company that my friend owns. He recoups the cost and then some when he installs it in a new build. Unless you count some Chinese company that churns out hundreds of thousands of cards, it's really a victimless crime. And until China gets even a remote handle on their rampant intellectual piracy, they can kiss my ass.

However, if the Wal-Mart employee caught me, I am prepared to die.

I pretty much guarantee he's paid less than that, probably something in the area of $8.00- $9.00 an hour, and they won't give him more than about 30 hours a week because if he was a full time employee they would have to give more benefits. Basically he's a moron. If you're treated the way Walmart treats its employees and you do more than the absolute bare minimum required to not get fired you're a sucker.

Wow. That's the most I've ever heard of a WalMart employee doing.

So THAT'S why there are only 3 lanes open during the busiest shopping hours!

/hates their customer service
/hates their arsehole employees' attitudes

CSB.

I had some friends in college that would grab the bar codes from similar but cheaper products, print them out on labels and place them over the more expensive products, then go through the self-check. They'd later peel off the label return the item without a receipt for a full-priced return in Walmart gift cards.

All you have to do to get fired from Wally World is to ask for a decent salary and benefits.

What the fark? If you're going to return something without a receipt, why the hell would you fake check it out in the first place and go through all that effort? I mean, just steal the product and return it for store credit later.
