Dughan: [image.motortrend.com image 569x355]Great gas milage, reasonable cost and in the same class as the Corolla... yet no one ever seems to talk about it (good or ill) in these car threads.I got a Mazda 3 for myself recently and I currently average about 32-35 MPG overall. That is better than some hybrids without all the potential headaches of having a hybrid. It has decent pick-up and is very responsive. Above 60 MPH the road noise does get a little bit much, but I've simply gotten used to that, so it only becomes a problem when I try to use the on-board cell phone system on the freeway. Overall, it's a pretty damn good car that I enjoy driving and have yet to have any serious complaints about. Give me a few years and I might feel differently, but most everyone who has a Mazda seems pretty happy with it. If anyone is looking for something equivalent to a Corolla, give the Mazda 3 (with a Skyactiv motor) a once over, at least./pic is hotlinked
