Why musical notes? Rap has no music

What exactly was wrong with cash for clunkers? It got a lot of people new cars instead of sinking money into old cars which barely ran.

Not according to Breitbart.com: He "brings his political and spiritual views to life with his poetry set to some serious beats and fantastic music."

You stand corrected, sir.

I have no idea what the heck problem they have with it, but -I- hated it because they simply junked all the cars collected and rendered their engines useless. It basically drove up the price of used cars and made it so cheap deals on fun cars to just play with as a mechanic became almost nonexistent. And totally neglected that, perhaps, driving a slightly older, less efficient car could be BETTER than having to build an entirely new car and the energy/materials that went into it.

I don't know about conservatives, but I think if you play enough golf that you think putting it in a song/rap is a good idea you're officially banned from music forever.

The Jami Turman Fan Club: What exactly was wrong with cash for clunkers? It got a lot of people new cars instead of sinking money into old cars which barely ran.

Depends on what you think the goal of the program was. The main problem is that what exactly that was was somewhat unclear:

Good for the environment: Definitely a failure, junking and making an entire new car in general engineering terms is going to put much more waste into the environment than the savings in gas mileage, easily outweighing the overall impact on the fleet mileage.

Good for the auto industry: A wash to a moderate success, depending on whether you were wanting it to provide the auto industry with entirely new sales (it didn't, but it didn't really lose them any either, so "wash") or whether you were wanting it to move sales to earlier in the year to give the companies some breathing space (it worked, but in many cases the fact that this caused a corresponding drop in late-year sales was something dealerships didn't prepare for, and basically everyone but Ford ended up needing a more direct bailout anyhow.) Additionally, destroying perfectly functional old cars did shift some money from the Used industry to the New auto sales (though, again, at a rather steep cost to the environment).

Funnel taxpayer money to certain people in an industry that pays for a lot of political ads in certain swing states:A+ double ultimate hyper love success. Well, OK, moderate success, since not that much money was shifted.

Kind of a mess of a program goal-wise, and of extremely dubious "success" because the actual value of a lot of people participating (to the point they had to double the budget of the project halfway through) was never really firmly established.

All this isn't really to say the whole thing was bad. It wasn't bad, just kinda useless. An exercise in political wankery for some PR points in the rust belt, not really anything of particular use for the nation.

//Yeah, I know, you weren't actually interested, just making fun of the silly internet song.

I can already hear the some RNC bigwig ordering, "There, blacks! We like your people's music. Now vote for us."

And an African American may say, "That seems rather like a cheap and half-assed attempt to court the black vote despite years of..."

Which is met with a, "F***K YOU, N*****R, YOU'LL BE LUCKY IF WE'LL EVEN ALLOW YOU TO VOTE!!!!" followed by a storming off, a huff, a puff, and then a serious look by committee into why the GOP can't attract the black vote.

No...they don't sound a damn bit similar. It's really not a fair comparison. This moron feels more like the absolute shiat from 1985 to around 199...3, I think it started to get better again? But really, 70s rap had some good mic work and beats, this doesn't, and it adds too many soundbytes, among...other problems.

Rapper's Delight.

You're really missing out at the end: "This president has enacted more pro-gay legislation than any other president in history. How much pro-black legislation has he passed? ZERO."

It also took a couple billion out of the hands of government and into the hands of the American people, which Republicans should love.

Of course, it was a Democrat that did it, so naturally they hate it.
