Seeing as Obama built that store he can do whatever he wants with it.

This lady just needs to shut up and get up against the wall...

The Name: Disclaimer: I know nothing about this store owner or why she was upset with the Obama campaign using her store in his ad. The following is simply the first thing that popped into my head upon reading the headline.

Is it just me, or are Small Business Owners® some of the derpiest people around? I mean, I get that they're naturally going to identify more with the party that, often like them, sees nothing but the bottom line, but Jesus Christ do I really have to see this on my way to Belen every week?

You'd think that someone smart enough to start and/or run a business would at least have the minimal intelligence not to get caught up in such Teabaggery, but it seems like I see it all the time.

As a small business owner I can tell you the two biggest factors are, 1, I'm king of my tiny little shiathole business, and 2, I no longer have any exposure to others behaving politely. So being a total self-centered dickhead just comes naturally.

King Something: This means Lars Ulrich is automatically President and Barack Obama has to cover the entire St. Anger album on an out-of-tune vuvuzela.

On my bucket list is to be able to use in Scrabble:

Obamacare
Taxes

So now Obama went back in time and created the Environmental Protection Agency? Damn, that time machine is efficient.

Also, boo hoo. We spend decades tearing up the planet willy-nilly and slaughtering everything with a pulse, it's time we start being smart about using natural resources and not destroying everything.

Why is it that illegality and disckisness only mildly intersect? I mean, don't laws exist to codify what society says is wrong? And isn't dickishness wrong?

I say we make all dickishness illegal.

She's boned and the Obama people don't have to do a damned thing. Nor would Romney's folks if they used it. Another non-issue stoked up by Fox and Newsbusters, partners in idiocy.

So a small business owner losing business because a politician is using her store in a commercial is no big deal? Good thing Ms. Krause didn't build that business herself.

I don't really think it's natural. The party that just killed a bill to help small businesses was not the Democratic Party.

Lsherm: St_Francis_P: RadioAaron: She gave permission to someone to use her place for stock footage, right? I mean, don't you have to?

Sounds that way:

The scene was from stock footage bought from a Cincinnati video company, Faux said. He did not know the name of the company but said he was told by the Obama campaign that company officials said they did explain to Krause's manager that they were filming stock footage that could be purchased and used for any reason.

But since Fox is on the job, the truth will soon cease to matter.

The Obama campaign is in the right legally, but it doesn't really matter in this case. If she wants them to stop using the footage (or at least the part that identifies her business) - it's dickish to keep using it.

Not only that but why would she not want extra business from the attention it'd garner?

I'm really sorry about that. I sold some stock footage of the store a few years ago, I really had no idea it would be used this way.

Perhaps, but it still makes for bad optics, much like all those musicians who biatch about Republicans using their songs. Honestly, Obama's team should probably just redo the ad with a different store. There have to be plenty of store owners who'd be happy to be in an Obama ad, for the free publicity alone.

"I've been put into a position I didn't ask for," she said Wednesday after the Hamilton County Republican Party sent out an email about the ad that accused Democrats of not responding to the owner's concerns. "I'm a little angry."

I admit that I'm a little confused. How did the GOP get involved?
Could it be that this store owner is an attention whore?
Isn't that special.

What does the voiceover say? If they say or imply anything about the deli as being representative of a small business ("Small businesses like this deli...") she probably has a very strong case. If it's just a backdrop she probably doesn't, but you'd think they'd at least honor her request.

Only if she's financially supporting people working to oppress and deny the rights of fellow Americans by using their religion. She'll also have to get a lot of people going there to stick it to the people upset about their rights and freedoms being denied to them.

" 0 A small business owner in a crucial swing state has found herself losing business from loyal customers due to her ad being featured in a Mitt Romney campaign ad. It seems her customers believe she is a Romney backer, but in fact she prefers to keep politics out of her business. And so this business owner demanded that the Romney camp either pull the ad or blur her deli's name from the frames that it's in. The campaign, she says, ignored her pleas.

You didn't hear about that story? Well, you certainly would if it actually happened, but, you see, this..."

Yes, way to support businesses.

Let's jeapordize a video business because an owner or authorized agent of another business entered into a legally binding model release without any reservation on moral rights and now doesn't like it! Let's put a video company out of business because it makes Obama look bad if you ignore the fact that the store is stupid and completely at fault! And that totally doesn't make us look stupid to suggest that or anything! Yay, contracts are just paper!

Thanks. They're probably technically in the clear. It does seem especially ironic that he's talking about things being taken out of context and then the importance of standing behind small businesses, and yet they do nothing to support this small business when the footage is taken out of context.
