Michael: And a DNA test.

Lupe: "I no dust buster ANYMORE!"
Lindsay: "Fine I'LL DUSTBUSTER!"

The setup of Lupe sleeping with Buster before that made this line HILARIOUS.

Sneed, Feed, and Seed all end in the same last three letters.

Now replace those letters (also replace Sneed's with Chuck's) with the last three letters of Chuck. Ta da!

/Don't worry, it took me a while too.

I wonder who came up with that joke, probably some geek Simpsons writer's kid.

Last Man on Earth: Don the Plastic Shroud: Not at all risque, but I got a good laugh out of the Sunday morning breakfast joint being Skip Church's and the Friday night hang out for Barry Zuckerkorn is Miss Temple's Chinese buffet.

Holy shiat, I never noticed that! Love this show so much. Years later, and after multiple viewings, there are still plenty of surprises like that. Hell, stuff like Henry Winkler hopping over a shark only ever seems to get noticed by word of mouth.

I'm partially drunk right now, but I can't be the only one that noticed Winkler doing the Fonzy "'Bout to comb my hair, nah, it's perfect" thing during season 2, right?

/not obscure

I never watched it, only because I was probably into something else at the time. Probably not going to watch now, only because it's evidently in everyone else's blood, and I won't have the nostalgic context.

So, enjoy, I guess. Congrats on getting your show back.

/I'll be in the corner with the Firefly fans, sighing and pretending 'Castle' is better than it is.

Nonsense, I watched it all on Netflix for the first time long after Fox kicked it to the curb. If anything, I envy you having *four* seasons of "new" Arrested Development to look forward to.

Strategeryz0r: That was kind of the point. There isn't a single character on the show that's likeable(something they pointed out in the last season continuously). It really was half an hour of primetime depravity. The funny thing is, that's the kind of comedy that's selling these days. The show was kind of ahead of it's time really, hence why Netflix picked it up. They realized how many people were starting to take notice of it, and watching it repeatedly over their streaming service.

I can't count the number of friends who "don't own tv's" that fell in love with the show after I loaned them season 1. A big problem with TV is so much of it is so bad that a lot of people ignore it entirely so gems get cancelled even when lots of people would love them if they saw them.

Yes, the two of them used to have probably one of the best sketch comedy shows ever on HBO.

Which has already been referenced in this thread.

Strategeryz0r: also, are any other Archer fans as excited for the Bob's Burgers/Archer cross-over episode they're doing next season as I am? Because I'm pretty damned excited for it!

I hadnt heard of it before now, but i am also pretty damned excited for it!

I loves me some AD, but by far, the greatest "Holy cow, did they get that by the censors?" moment for me was on 30 Rock, when Liz Lemon's father, Richard Lemon, proudly announces "You can't have a Lemon Party without old Dick!"

Strategeryz0r: mikieb: I tried watching it a few times, but couldn't get into it. Then I read stuff like this, and it makes me sorry I missed all of it. I really have to get the DVDs.

Or just get Netflix... The entire series is on there, plus the new episodes come out next year(which are also produced by Netflix).

...or for the first 3 seasons there's also Amazon Prime. Plus you get 2 day shipping...

Stared waching it on Netflix the other night, and I wish I had given it more of a chance the first time around.

Jack had dropped a more subtle mention of a 'lemon party' to Liz in the second episode (no reference to old Dick). When that slipped through, I guess Fey and the other writers decided to try moving the bar -- and succeeded. What surprises me most is not that the ultimate joke snuck past NBC S&P, but that it is kept in when WGN airs the syndicated reruns, whereas a lot of other lines are silenced.

Of course its going to get by the censors, you think they sit around googling every reference? Theres absolutely nothing vulgar about that line unless your an internet person and have preexisting knowledge. Simpsons has made a lemon party joke even.

That reminds me of one of my all-time favorite sight gags on AD:

Apparently Lucille was supposed to check into rehab or something and Lindsay was supposed to be with her. They showed security cam footage that Lucille had sent the hispanic maid to substitute for her instead, along with the maid's daughter (for Lindsay). The maid's daughter was wearing the "SLUT" t-shirt.

Another example how jokes pay off even more when you're a long time viewer of the show.
