Why does that jet have a bulldozer scoop attached to it?

It always bugged me in "Juno" when she was going into labor and she screamed "Thundercats are go!" It should have been "Thunderbirds are go!" Thundercats was "Thundercats ho!". Duh. Everybody knows that.

It's a submarine, and that's a light.

Came here to say that, though ISTR it also has other attachments like an underwater cutting
torch. Its been a long time, though, and my mind could be playing tricks on me.

Wow. I gotta keep repeating the MST3k mantra.

It's the spaceship. Not needed in this episode.

I always liked the complex series of chutes that one guy had to slide down to get into his Thunderbird. Was it Tracy? And Lady Penelope was pretty cool, too.
I'm going to have to dig up the DVD's and watch some now.

But for the need to be a completest...

webspace.webring.com

and then there is Thunderbird 5 the space station.

Let us not forget Lady Penelope's Rolls Royce either. Fab1 ftw, isn't that right Parker? Yes m'lady.

Yes I used to watch the show as a kid. How can you tell? My mother also watched the show when she was a kid, and my children watch the show too.

You will watch Thunderbird too, and you will enjoy it!

What? I don't get it. The link goes to a blurb about a medical rescue operation from Antarctica to New Zealand. What does this have to do with a supermarionation TV show?

While you are correct that Juno's reference was wrong ... people do strange things when labor hits. So it is perfectly realistic that the character of Juno mixed her pop culture references up. Of course if it was an unintentional error by the writer then she deserves all the nerd rage that gets directed at her!!

When my sister when into labor, my brother-in-law stopped to polish his shoes while she was waiting for him to drive her to the hospital. We still kid him about that and my nephew is 21 now.

Man the sickest drunk I've ever had was on Thunderbird wine. $3.50 for a bottle. I was an idiot high school sophomore and it was Satan incarnate. Damn, I feel woosy just thinking about it. Good times though. Good times.

I'd be more upset about being forced to perform oral sex on a sick guy than losing a couple days of vacation! How is that even going to help? Unless it is a prostate problem?

Jackie Rabbit: What? I don't get it. The link goes to a blurb about a medical rescue operation from Antarctica to New Zealand. What does this have to do with a supermarionation TV show?

It connects because the headline in the actual article begins 'International Rescue mission...'. The supermarionation show featured *vehicles* called 'Thunderbirds', and was *titled* 'Thunderbirds', but the name of the organization that operated them was...

you guessed it, 'International Rescue'.

(Just watched a few episodes recently, plus the live-action feature.)

It's a matter of fuel capacity and the plane is pretty much a full-service hospital excluding surgical. The flight is over 2800 miles each way and there is no refueling at McMurdo Station.
